An extremely BOLD proposal[edit]

I'm considering reverting to this diff from 2006. It is the last version I find that isn't completely unsalvageable due to large chunk of UNESCO docs. power~enwiki (π, ν) 15:09, 26 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you've got time, I suggest having a read of Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)/Archive 137#Does/should WP:NOFULLTEXT apply to more than just primary sources? for some context here, power~enwiki (particularly the top and bottom ends of the discussion - it goes off on a bit of a tangent in the middle). Cordless Larry (talk) 15:46, 26 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I won't have time to read that until mid-April, unfortunately. I won't do anything bold here until mid-April either. power~enwiki (π, ν) 15:48, 26 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, power~enwiki. The TL;DR version is that we have editors who work for UNESCO copying huge chunks of UNESCO publications into quite a number of Wikipedia articles, resulting in the importing of UNESCO's POV without suitable in-text attribution of opinions, all the while supported by a Wikimedia grant. Cordless Larry (talk) 15:55, 26 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Any more thoughts on this, Power~enwiki? Cordless Larry (talk) 20:09, 12 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Definitely forgot about this. Too busy in real-life now, perhaps *this* year I'll get around to it in mid-April. I will post a reminder on my talk page. power~enwiki (π, ν) 20:13, 12 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I did a quick hatchet-job on it. There may be a entire walled garden of UNESCO efforts that primarily were marketing campaigns for continual efforts covered neutrally in other articles. There's a suspicious lack of time references here. power~enwiki (π, ν) 02:14, 13 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Power~enwiki. I've also removed some UNESCO opinions ("requires us", "must", etc.). Cordless Larry (talk) 08:02, 13 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for pointing this issue out regarding UNESCO, Cordless Larry. I agree with you. I have this article on my to-do list now as it relates to the SDGs and I currently have a project for that, see here. EMsmile (talk) 03:29, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sustainable Development Goals[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians, Does anyone oppose me adding a section on the SDG's, and mentioning Goal 4 and Goal 12 specifically? Should I also add a sentence on the Lead or just leave it as it is? AmiableArchivist (talk) 19:37, 23 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Merger[edit]

I am proposing to merge this with sustainable development. It's mostly just a UNESCO term and concept that does not really need its own Wikipedia article. EMsmile (talk) 11:09, 1 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Support as it is pretty short. Chidgk1 (talk) 16:44, 9 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've carried out the merger now. EMsmile (talk) 10:38, 2 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
