According to the sources referenced on de:Porsche P1, the vehicle Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG pretends to be the first Porsche motor car is in fact a forgery which was made in 2009 out of older materials and fitted with a "legend". Here some sources 'proving that proves' are false, not existing (the 'P' is nowhere to find) and that the '1' was engraved after 2009 and only on a mass production component; an evident 'marketing initiative' to build up an ancestor story.

It is not really a forgery. The vehicle was bought from the Technical Museum in Vienna. Some details have changed though. Plus it is definitely not the first Porsche motor vehicle.
