Bahmin redirects here but isn't mentioned anywhere in the article. Is it another name for this species and if so can it be mentioned in the article? I haven't been able to find any sources that explain the connection between the two terms (having arrived here by mistyping "Brahmin"). Xufanc, who created the redirect, hasn't been active for a while, but their input would doubtless be useful. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 20:49, 1 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It is a Malayalam word which refers to four species of threadfin, Leptomelanosoma indicum, Polydactylus plebeius and Polynemus paradiseus being the others, according to Fishbase https://www.fishbase.se/ComNames/CommonNameSearchList.php Quetzal1964 (talk) 15:03, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
