With respects, a revert to former article name....[edit]

While I respect User:Roman Spinner's good faith in his change of article name, and although the guideline at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English) shares the reasoning behind English titles being preferred, the article name Rat-Trap as changed makes determimation of notability more difficult and not less... and acts against the spirit of the cited guideline... which is intended to make the determination of notability easier for readers.

  1. I did a google search for the article title Rat-Trap and found out all about rat traps... but not the film. As G-News search was even less helpful.
  2. A search for Rat-Trap film for the one Time Out pocket review. Nice, but by itself would not ensure notability.
  3. I did a search for the more accurate translation of The Rat Trap, and found a 1999 film of that name, but not this 1981 film. Again, a G-News search of this name was not helpful.
  4. A search for Elippathayam, the Englification of the Malayam title, immediately found numerous English language sources indicating notability for this film. This same result was with a G-News search for the original title.
  5. Now while I respect the reasoning behind User:Roman Spinner's change of name, and even with the film having been shown in London and having a review in Time Out, the bulk of this films notability is found and searchable under Elippathayam, and not Rat-trap.
With respects, it should be moved back to its original title. MichaelQSchmidt (talk) 05:43, 27 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
