Name

The name of the subject of the article has come under discussion, specifically whether that Ms. Reeve's first name is currently and exclusively Elle (previously Elspeth), or alternatively that her name is Elspeth, but she typically goes by Elle. At one point, it is uncontroversial that Ms. Reeve went by Elspeth as per multiple author bio pages for her previous employers (e.g. here, here, and here). So, a source is needed to verify that she has changed her name, of which I haven't seen any. However, her Twitter handle @elspethreeve seems to support the position that she has not changed her name as she still uses Elspeth in public and on a platform she has recently updated. I can't really see the other editor's (@Psiĥedelisto:) line of reasoning pointing to their conclusion, so some clarification would be appreciated. @Somers-all-the-time: All of the sources you cite are from the early 2000's. Her professional name is clearly Elle. Continuously changing the lead is not the right way to handle this, open a page move discussion if you think her name isn't "really" Elle. To have the lead and page name out of sync makes no sense. @Psiĥedelisto: Obviously this page should not be moved. I think that her birth name is Elspeth, and now the article's subject prefers to professionally go by Elle instead. Per MOS:BIRTHNAME, I'm pretty sure her birth name (Elspeth) should be mentioned before her professional name (Elle). Somers-all-the-time (talk) 23:41, 26 August 2022 (UTC)
@Somers-all-the-time: But this situation is MOS:CHANGEDNAME not MOS:BIRTHNAME. (I've seen her driver's license.) Now that's not a source. But every source for the last decade or so has used her changed name. I don't know why to you it seems a "professional name" only. It's usually not allowed to cite public records such as of courts (@GorillaWarfare taught me this one) so I am unsure what to really do. @Somers-all-the-time: Sorry, I realize now that I first used the term professional name which may be the source of the confusion. I meant by this that I believe Elle started out as such, but it's now her legal name, I'm sure of that. Psiĥedelisto (talkcontribs) please always ping! 01:39, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
@Psiĥedelisto: It seemed like a professional name to me because Elle reasonably could be a nickname or shortened version of Elspeth. Also, the article's subject's Twitter handle still retains Elspeth. Somers-all-the-time (talk) 01:58, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
I've had the username "molibear" before, but that doesn't mean we should argue that that's actually my name. If there's a reliable secondary source (that is, not a Twitter handle, and not a primary source) that refers to her by this name then it could be included, otherwise we should omit it.
