Embryonic stem cellsEmbryonic stem cellRationale: According to Wikipedia:Naming_conventions#Prefer_singular_nouns. SOME_article_titles_should_be_plural raises some valid points, but in that case Cell (biology) and so on should be plural too... Furthermore, all other stem cell articles are singular. Currently Embryonic stem cell is an inappropriate redirect to Stem cellPlease share your opinion at Talk:Embryonic stem cells. Peter Znamenskiy 18:23, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Makes sense. —Nightstallion (?) 09:02, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

ES cells are pluripotent, not totipotent

Embryonic stem (ES) cells are pluripotent, not totipotent. Totipotency implies an ability to contribute to all extraembryonic (placental) tissues, in addition to all three embryonic germ layers. ES cells can only contribute to the three germ layers. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mellogirl (talkcontribs) 03:22, 11 July 2006 (UTC).

There are three articles that can be made into one: Stem cells, Adult stem cells, and embryonic stem cells. Changed rating from top to high to make it consistent with adult stem cell and because this is also covered by stem cell and stem cell controversy. - tameeria 17:04, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
