Advertising[edit]

This page has been the subject of commercial advertising on more than one occasion by different companies, it needs to be checked to in the future to ensure that the companies have not tried adding advertising again. Maybe a comprehensive external links section to different endowment purchasing companies would be good.

We usually avoid linking to a list of companies (see WP:External links.)
The current footnote looks like it came from someone's advertising too. If you register for an account, you can automatically watch the article. I would also welcome better references if you know of them. --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 10:53, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Selling advice[edit]

I have copied the following from the talk page of an unregistered user:

Hi,

I have been adding information to a page regarding endowment policies. Many companies have since changed this page many times to remove information I have added, presumably for the purpose of not wanting full information to be available to the public.

I notice that you have also reverted the page, most notably very recently, where you have added a link to the BC which is extremely historic and obsolete.

I appreciate that one should not leave links to ones own website and therefore I have removed that link too.

Your new version of Endowment selling does not have the advertising link (though I did not notice before I reverted.) An old reference is better than none at all, and the style and content is mostly not encyclopedic. See WP:TONE and WP:NOT.

It would go easier if both you and the other company with a vested interest refrained from editing the article and suggested improvements at Talk:Endowment selling.
