Apparent errors[edit]

Is this statement correct? "With no orders forthcoming the English Electric Company closed its aircraft department in 1926 for the next 22 years." It certainly looks as if it is not. Eddaido (talk) 04:23, 23 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Certainly closed down in 1926, the next activity was sub-contract work during the second world war and the "aircraft department" was started again in 1944. MilborneOne (talk) 12:34, 23 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. Well 1944 -1926 is 18 years. Is 'aircraft department' a sound description? Might this be a design operation? I am right out of my depth with aircraft. regards, Eddaido (talk) 06:16, 24 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It was a design office as well as aircraft production and the source I used calls it an "aircraft department" so I cant see any problem with that. Just to show the gap the next aircraft they designed was the English Electric Canberra. MilborneOne (talk) 19:24, 24 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
