Notability[edit]

Please review the criteria listed at WP:BAND before adding the {{notability}} template to a band's article space. Enterprise Earth are notable for the following criteria:
2. Has had a single or album on any country's national music chart.

Their 2017 album Embodiment did indeed chart No. 6 on the Billboard Heatseekeers Chart.

I helped craft it and am familiar with it. Their charting was not on main charts. Heatseekers is for "up and coming" bands that have not entered the main chart (the 200). They cannot chart there more than once. So maybe you should understand the criteria before you get into an edit war over the template. Walter Görlitz (talk) 23:07, 24 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
That makes sense, but I was not aware of any guidelines or discussions/consensus that ruled out Heatseekers as a notable chart. I’ve been under the impression that any chart listed on Billboard counted as a national chart per WP:BAND. Could you link me to guidelines or a discussion ruling out the Heatseekers chart so I can read more on the topic? Or if there is currently no consensus, then maybe it needs to be discussed further in another location (like WP:BAND’s talk page) in order to develop a guideline for future editors to go by so they don’t become confused as I have. Cheers! — Tha†emoover†here (talk) 10:18, 14 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I do not know of a consensus discussion, but general opinion is that not all charts have equal weight. Feel free to raise it at the project. Walter Görlitz (talk) 15:55, 14 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Walter Görlitz: So I looked into it, and they’ve actually charted on three different Billboard charts, spanning two of their albums. Seems objectively notable to me. Here’s the Billboard link: [1]Tha†emoover†here (talk) 21:03, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
To be specific they’ve charted exactly 5 times to date: Patient 0 reached 16 on the Hard Rock chart, and both Patient 0 and Embodiment charted on the Independent chart (43 and 21 respectively). As for the Heatseekers charts, they’ve charted there twice: Patient 0 at 5 and Embodiment at 6. You said they can only chart there once, but I believe the actual rule is that they can keep charting there until they make it to the Billboard 200, then they can no longer chart there. — Tha†emoover†here (talk) 21:13, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I think you're right about Heatseekers until 200. Feel free to remove the notability template. I'll be happy to take it to AfD and you can say "but they've charted on ..." there. It's my opinion that the charting is not sufficient. We'll see what the community thinks. Walter Görlitz (talk) 21:21, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
If you post at AfD could you send me the link? — Tha†emoover†here (talk) 21:25, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
WP:AFD is a process, not a project per se. A big template will be placed on the top of the article. The entry that gets created will be listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Bands and musicians among other possible locations. For instance, Bikash Khawas is listed there. You can see what the template looks like. It will have a link to the deletion discussion. Walter Görlitz (talk) 22:29, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Would it be possible to postpone putting it up for deletion until their album is released (I think next month) to see how that one charts? — Tha†emoover†here (talk) 22:36, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. Walter Görlitz (talk) 22:41, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
