Matahorn?

On the episodes list, for the pilot they say Vince is considering a role in "matahorn"... shouldn't it be "Matterhorn", as in the mountain, as in the ride at Disneyland?

Ethan Suplee

I watched "Neighbors" again and noticed that under the "Also featuring" part of the credits it read "Anthoney Anderson, Bob Saget, Ethen Suplee." Now did I miss him or was he cut from the episode and still credited? (it's worth noting that on the "Queens Blvd." poster, Suplee has second billing under Vincent Chase. AriGold 12:28, 28 July 2005 (UTC)

Well he's also credited on imdb [1] but I definitely don't remember seeing him in the episode. I'm guessing you're right about his scenes being cut. Dan Granahan 15:09, 28 July 2005 (UTC)
Suplee is Vince's interlocutor in the scene he loops for Walsh:
Suplee: Hey. You ever comin' back?
Vince: You kiddin'? I am Queens Boulevard.

3rd season

Just read on aintitcool that "HBO CEO Chris Albrecht tells the Television Critics Association: not only is the pay service putting on a third season of E, Vince, Drama, Turtle and Ari Gold next year, it wants more than 13 episodes for that third season." Should that be added? AriGold 13:05, 21 July 2005 (UTC) The third season is currently being filmed

Debi Mazar

Considering that she is a star of the show, can someone create a paragraph for the character?

McQuewick or Mackewich?

Anyone know which is the correct spelling? I think the Irish spelling would be the correct one, considering it's being played by a McDowell. --DarrenBaker 18:55, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

Drama's career

the article says "In season one, we find out that he has not had an acting gig for seven years."

is that accurate? they say that Viking Quest has been off the air for seven years, but i thought it was mentioned that Drama hadn't done anything in 3 years (i think in the season 1 episode in which he gets assigned Adam Davies as his agent...) i don't have access to the DVD right now, can anyone fact-check that? 67.169.58.50 00:47, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

You are correct he says he says he has not been working for three years at Adam's Office, however he has had roles in Vince's movies, such as Head On and QB which are very recent, also it is mentioned he worked on Barber Shop got a check, but was edited out. I am going to edit the page to say "serious acting gig" as I feel this fits the situation.Dapoloplayer 05:26, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

Mandy Moore

Why isn't Mandy Moore credited in the cast list? Would someone who has the info please add her? JimmB 03:00, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

This comment is now irrelevant since Stevegallery reorganized the Cast and Recurring Characters sections on 8 June 2006. JimmB 03:02, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Mrs. Ari

Do we know for a fact that her name is Dinah Gold? I just finished watching "The Bat Mitzvah" where her name is allegedly said by Terrance however when I put on the closed captioning, he said "Darling" instead of "Dinah". Also, on both HBO and IMDB credit Ari's wife as either "Mrs. Ari" or "Mrs. Ari Gold". If we can find a reliable source that backs her name up, it should stay however if we cannot find anything it should return to "Mrs. Ari". Sfufan2005 16:52, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Correct, her name is never spoken and she's always credited as Mrs. Ari. 24.247.219.140 19:12, 25 June 2006 (UTC) C.M.

Comedy

The opening paragraph of the article denotes the series as an HBO original comedy. I really do not find Entourage a comedy... a comedic drama, possibly, but definitely not a full on comedy. Sven Erixon 06:21, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
Correct, It is considered a "Dramedy" --Argash 15:06, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Fourth and Fifth Season

I've removed the information about a fourth and fifth season already being ordered as there was no reference cited, and in my searches have not been able to find anything to verify the information. Sven Erixon 08:19, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

I heard an interview with Eric Connolly on the Jim Rome radio show. Eric stated that the 4th season was in production right now and he was shooting a scene at the Queen Mary that day.

Is is officially being called the 4th season? I believe it is being divided Sopranos style...--Disembarkedone 18:16, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
Well, Season 3 1/2 will supposedly begin airing with 8 episodes starting in January. Season 4 of Entourage will possibly be Summer '07 with another 20 episodes. Sfufan2005 20:08, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
HBO is saying "Last 3 episodes of the season" in the commercials... so I think one can assume that what will be on in Jan is season4--68.193.174.250 09:38, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Trivia

"The highly eccentric character, Billy Walsh, is spectulated to be based on outspoken independent film director Vincent Gallo." was added as a trivia item. I believe it has been established that he is based on Rob Weiss (as said in Season2 DVD by Doug Ellin) --Disembarkedone 18:16, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Yes, that is true. Rob Weiss is the basis for the character. Sfufan2005 20:07, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Principal Characters

I'm starting to think that the entries for the principal characters on this article are getting too long. Should we maybe start splitting them off into individual entries, then having short blurbs from the main articles on this one? Sven Erixon 22:42, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
I am thinking the same thing, however right now I'm working on the episodes so I can't focus on it. If needed I can do up Vincent's article that could be used as a reference for someone else to do the rest. --Argash 15:09, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Drama's Mother?

The article says that Johnny Drama is Vince's half-brother from their father's first marriage. But in the first episode of season three ("Aquamom"), he and Vince appear to have the same mother. When Vince is trying to get his mother to come out to LA, she asks Vince how his brother is doing and whether he's been able to get any work. Drama acts all slighted when he finds out she's going to go to Vince's Aquaman premier and begs her to come to his next premier (if he ever gets one). Drama refers to her as "ma" throughout the entire episode ("Ma can be very petty"). And when the plane lands and she gets off, she refers to Drama as her "first born". Perhaps this is just an inconsistency from early episodes of the series, but it's pretty clear now that Drama and Vince have the same mother.-24.186.220.44 07:21, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

I think episode 3.01 breaks continuity since in several Season 1 AND 2 episodes (Pilot, The Review, My Maserati Does 185, An Offer Refused), Johnny is referred as Vince's half brother which is the way it should remain in this article. But that's my opinion. Sfufan2005 19:49, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
I agree. Also It's possible that they have the same mother and different fathers and the episode where they stated they shared a father (not a mother) could have been a mistake. --Argash 20:37, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
Also, Vince could have been raised by his father and Drama's mother, or vice versa, and both of them think as her as their mother. Sven Erixon 06:24, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
No, since there is a line in "Aquamom" about Drama being their mother's first born, so we know in current continuity they have the same mother. We also know that they share the same father -- there's the line in "My Maserati Does 185" ("You have your mother's calves, I got dad's"), as well as another line in another episode where Vice tries to soothes Drama's insecurities ("Don't worry. All the Chase men..."). In current continuity, it appears that Vince and Drama are full brothers, and that is the way the relationship is described in HBO's official character bio for Drama [2].-24.186.220.44 08:12, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

Do we have confirmation other to Season 3 completing in the spring of 07? --Argash 06:52, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Episode Articles

I'm in the process of creating the episode articles and I am wondering if it might be easier to get other peoples help if I do the basic leg work and create all the articles at once with all of the info boxes and the basic sections and then everyone else can go behind me and fill in the plot summaries/quotes/trivia and stuff. If you would be interested in helping out if I did all that work first let me know. Other wise I'll just continue to do whole episodes at a time. -- Argash  |  talk  |  contribs  15:40, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

If you add just the basic info for all the episodes first, then leave it up to others to fill in the other stuff... If noone does anything in them, come back to them later. Sven Erixon 03:51, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
Ok Season one stubs are up, I'll work on seasons two and three later today. -- Argash  |  talk  |  contribs  14:23, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

Ari's Educational Background

Didn't Ari receive his MBA from Harvard Business? In the episode with Josh Weinstein, I'm fairly certain that he mentions Harvard Business School when he crashes Josh's party.

I believe its a MBA from harvard and a JD from Michigan, I'll find it and update it. -- Argash  |  talk  |  contribs  13:30, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

Cars of Entourage

Can we add a section, or something similar, about the cars that Vince and the boys drive? So, far, a partial list would include:

  • 200? Hummer H2
  • 200? Cadillac Escalade
  • 1968 Lincoln Continental
  • 200? Maserati Quattroporte
  • 200? Mercedes Benz S65 AMG
  • 200? Aston-Martin DB-something or other (3 of them)
  • Ari's BMW 750Li

That's all I can think of for now. Are there any others, and should there be an entry for these?

Also, on a semi-related note, is the Continental ever featured on the show other than in the main title?
Grahamdubya 23:17, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

  • I really don't think this is necessary in the main article... possibly as a "See Also" article? It just doesn't seem overly important. Sven Erixon 11:44, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
  • Don't forget about the Roll's Phantom

Guest Template for Infobox

Ok I've created a template for listing the guest stars in the episode info baxes. It took me awhile to get it right but I finally got it. You can see it at Template:Entourage_Guest please comment on it and let me know what you think. The only real limitation it has right now is (as you can see on that page) the images HAVE to be in a 3x2 ratio or they flat out break the template. This means most of the guest stars will need new images uploaded and I'll need to make a generic image for guests that currently don't have any photos or an article entry.  Argash  |  talk  |  contribs  06:36, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

External Links

We have way too many external links on this article. A good chunk of them are "fan sites" or unofficial sites... I also don't think we need to have all of the "official" sites listed. We should whittle this list down to less than five links, as most of them really aren't relevant to learning more about the series. Any comments/suggestions before I start hacking the list? Sven Erixon 17:09, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

I think some of those links should either be put in a "see also" section or just listed as references, especially the ones linking to news aticles/blog posts  Argash  |  talk  |  contribs  05:16, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
Very good idea. I've taken the liberty at doing this, and removing most of the other links. If anyone feels some of them should be put back, please discuss first. Sven Erixon 05:37, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

9/25/06: I have added back the Entourage Superfan to the external links and I believe it deserves that spot. Not only was it the first fansite created to my knowledge, it was also the first and sole unofficial site here for months (anyone visiting this article for a long time can vouch for that) and I believe it has way more info than the other fansites. I was disappointed to see it had been removed. -Entourage Superfan Webmaster

Trivia Section

I'm starting to think that the Trivia section is getting a little too long. I know that given the very nature of Entourage, a lot of trivia bits will inevitably come through. I suggest we either create a new section, or reduce the number we have right now. Agree/disagree? Sven Erixon!

Start by moving the episode specific trivia bits to the relevant episode articles and see how much that cleans up  Argash  |  talk  |  contribs  05:58, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Proposal: Time for WikiProject?

What do you all think, we have four or five regular editors now and the articles are really expanding, is it time to go forth with a WikiProject for Entourage?  Argash  |  talk  |  contribs  10:39, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

I was thinking about proposing it, but I am definitely ready to delve into a project, as I'm sure you can tell :) Sven Erixon 11:45, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
As an added note, I've recently been weighing what needs to be done to the article to gain Featured Status and can come up with a good to-do list to start off with, if we decide to go the WP route. Sven Erixon 11:47, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

The Proposal has been submitted for those interested in participating please add your name to the proposal which is here and to the temporary project page here. Thank you to all those willing to participate.  Argash  |  talk  |  contribs  13:12, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Images

I think we could use some more images on the main article. I don't have any screencapturing abilities, otherwise I would jump on this. Anyone able to help out? Sven Erixon 11:58, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

I've kind of been holding off until the descussion over fair use gets resolved over on the list of lost episodes and because theres so much other stuff to worry about. That said I screen shots are very easy to make and if you have a list of specific scenes or what not just let me know  Argash  |  talk  |  contribs  12:01, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
I've tagged all entourage related images with Category:Entourage Image so you can now easily find them all on that one page.

Awards

I've added an awards section I'm thinking that subsections should be limited to just emmys and globes with a single subsection for other minor awards. A list of all the awards that Entourage has earned is listed here they just needed to be worked in now. BTW props to Jeremy Piven for finally winning his award the same night his character got fired! gotta love the irony on that one!  Argash  |  talk  |  contribs  07:56, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

Character Articles

I've started breaking out the major characters into their own articles. Obv I started with Vince and you can see the article at Vincent Chase also you can see the template for it at Template:Entourage Character, there is currently a problem with the image not sizing properly that I can't seem to get working correctly but you can start playing with it at least. I will eventually get all 5 of the major characters done this weekend. Feel free to comment on the template or just start using it or editing it.  Argash  |  talk  |  contribs  13:59, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Kevin Smith

The Kevin Smith references always seemed out of place to me. Comparing the guy who made Clerks and Chasing Amy with the guy who made Pearl Harbor? Smith discusses the issue in an interview http://www.joblo.com/index.php?id=12101. Actually, now that I look, the issue is discussed directly on the Rob Weiss page, perhaps a mention here would be helpful. Aepryus 16:33, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

Why is this Smith groupie inserting Smith's defensive reaction to getting a mild slam on a TV show into every tangentially related article? Smith is not the focus of this series and the references to him are no more notable than those to Joey Travolta or Quentin Tarantino. Face it, the series is about Hollywood, it is inevitable that it will take shots at certain people and moreover this is coming from characters who may or may not reflect the attitudes of the writers. Is there anyone outside of Smith's nerd cult who doesn't think of him as a pathetic one hit wonder? It is natural for characters moving up in the Hollywood world to mock such people. And by the way, there are a grand total of two references, so it is awkward to say they "always" seem out of place, as if they are a routine part of the show. And the first Smith reference is plainly used to ID the Weingar character as Weinstein, as Smith is one of his golden boys--it's more a slam on Harvey than Smith. Please, go back to tending the Kevin Smith hagiography.
Actually, I'm not a Kevin Smith fan; I've seen a couple of his movies. I didn't, however, find them to be in the same class as Michael Bay's, so was curious about the reference. If you check the logs I changed a single article, the Kevin Smith article, which isn't terribly tangental and had never edited that article before. When I said "always seemed out of place" I wasn't speaking of multiple references was more talking about everytime I watch the episodes. I like the show so I've seen each episode a few times. The reason I added the link had nothing to do with advocacy one way or another, but I had a simple question about something I saw...it took me quite a while to find the answer and when I did find the answer, I thought it would be helpful to post it to wikipedia. Heh, but wow seemed to invoke quite a violent reaction...who knew.Aepryus 08:44, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Trivia citations

"Turtle's wearing a Bayside HS jacket in the pilot episode" - for a citation to support this claim, I dug up the Bayside HS Football logo . I found no pictures of anyone wearing a varsity jacket. To confirm the claim, I need a screencap of Turtle wearing the jacket with logo showing, and the approximate time in the episode. The citation will only refer to the Bayside HS site, and the approximate timecode in the pilot episode. Lexein 13:44, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Mrs. Ari's main character status

Is she officially a main character? It makes no sense for her to be a main character, she's in a minority of episodes. If it's not official she should be moved to supporting character. Leopold Stotch (talk) 06:10, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

YES Mrs. Ari is a full character as of season 4 episode 1, she became a full character. The credits determine the full character status. Before she was just a guest star/recurring. For instance, the actress who plays shawna used to be a full character between season 2 and 3. But was drop back to recurring and she didn't appear in all the episode to. Full character status as to do with HBO deciding who is in the credits. Tj21 (talk) 18:07, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Principals

The individual character articles have become magnets for excessive in-universe detail, whereas per our guideline at WP:FICT the emphasis needs to be the real-world significance of the subject. I propose merging these back to the main article, which will provide an overdue cull of this unencyclopedic content and continue to encourage sourced and concise content that does not fall back into the kind of in-universe coverage that we discourage. Eusebeus (talk) 15:53, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Your link to WP:FICT does not appear to mention anything about real world significance. The articles on main characters are acceptable spin-offs from this page. Catchpole (talk) 08:22, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

I see it there fromWP:NOT#PLOT, viz:

Wikipedia articles on published works (such as fictional stories) should cover their real-world context and sourced analysis, offering detail on a work's development, impact or historical significance, not solely a detailed summary of that work's plot. This applies both to stand-alone works, and also to series. A brief plot summary may sometimes be appropriate as an aspect of a larger topic.

WP:FICT then offers some useful amplification of this position but, as Catchpole implies, WP:NOT#PLOT is not thereby deprecated and that prescription should indeed remain the main focus. Also, the spin-off question is still being debated on the FICT talk page, but so far consensus would not generally find these spin-offs acceptable as written. Eusebeus (talk) 21:00, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

I think one article (Characters of Entourage (TV Series) maybe?) would suffice, with all the characters listed therein. -- JTHolla! 02:24, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Pop culture

Although I disagree with the assessment that it has had no effect on popular culture, I'm going to leave it out for now, since I'm having trouble formulating its effects. I've got a bunch of sources, stating that with Entourage the line between fiction and reality is blurred and that Hollywood execs love and derive inspiration from the show. You know the drill. I'm just having trouble incorporating it into the article. Kusonaga (talk) 10:04, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

Correllation

It seems to me that it's unclear the level of connection the show has with Wahlberg. Is it only the characters themselves who are modelled on Wahlberg and friends? Or are any of the events occurring therein based, even loosely, on Wahlberg's own experiences? I think that either a distinction identifying that would fit, or some commentary of what events in the series correllate with what events in Wahlberg's own life. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.250.219.28 (talk) 07:13, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

1. its loosely based on the his rise in hollywood, reason is because a) they could not find someone to mimic him, b) his real life entourage was more aggressive for instance the character DOM and the ending of the vegas episode was more of entourage in the beginning of hollywood. 2. the characters are based off people mark knows and a few off doug ellin. ERIC is made of two people eric weinstein and stephen leveninstein (owner of talent management group leverage). Donkey is based off of turle, drama is based off of mark's cousin johnny "drama" alves. Marvin is based off doug ellin's dad the accountant. 3. after the first season they have progressed into fiction. But the character DOM as stated by Ellin when he first introduced him was an example of what "could" have been if the show started with more aggressive true to self characters of Mark's entourage. He and Mark felt that audiences would not like it, and of course many hated DOM so it proved they were correct in the beginning to make it more loosely based of off of wahlberg. Sixth Season

This is the citation needed for the Sixth Season beginning July 12. Can someone insert it? http://www.hbo.com/entourage/favorites/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.6.153.191 (talk) 21:44, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

On a semi-related note, I believe season 6 has a much longer summary in comparison to the previous seasons and should be cut down.76.68.189.182 (talk) 20:39, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

the other seasons should be expanded to the leval of writing that the 6th season has24.113.205.29 (talk) 03:22, 29 September 2009 (UTC)

Central Character

For all intents and purposes, the central character of the show is not Chase, but Eric Murphy. In fact, Kevin Connolly is first billed. I haven't sat through the entire presentation they did at the Paley Center (on 3rd season discs), but it did seem that Ellin was suggesting that E was the main role. RoyBatty42 (talk) 20:03, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Not exactly, ORIGINALLY E was the central character and they were going to have Vincent be a pair of shoes who we would never meet. But, the show didnt fit that way. So they cast vincent, in reality the central character is both E and Vincent. But season 6 is more about each character evolving especially Eric, Ellin is doing to this season to show what life is like for vincent back on top and E being for the first time ever a truly well known successful manager check out the interviews on hbo's website Tj21 (talk) 00:38, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Season 7

I can't find anywhere else that says this season will only be 10 episodes. A bunch of places they refer to the show "Hung" as being 10 episodes, but not Entourage.

Delete?

The source used for the premiere date for season 7, says the season will be 10 episodes. Drovethrughosts (talk) 13:14, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

That's only one source. Variety mentioned the premiere date too but didn't list how many episodes. Just because one source says it is true, doesnt mean it actually is.

I'm pretty sure since it says "A network spokesperson has confirmed..." makes it correct. Drovethrughosts (talk) 00:55, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

The summary of this season is terrible. It is just a recap of what happened in each episode, sentence by sentence. Sounds like someone summarized the first episode then just kept going from there. How about describing the main plot arcs and themes, not just "vince races E across LA..." BonusOnus (talk) 2 Aug 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.60.135.229 (talk)

Characters

"The numerous women appearing in the show are significant. The female characters are almost all young, good-looking, tarted up persons, who decorate the male characters." I don't understand why this has been deleted. There are plenty of female characters occuring in the show and it distinguishes Entourage from other TV-Show. Why should one skip this fact? Arguements please —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.41.150.10 (talk) 09:53, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

It isnt wrong, it is just a poor sentence and doesn't add to the article in terms of encyclopediatic content. 24.60.135.229 (talk) 23:43, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Synopses

Why the hell is the season 1 synopsis a couple of lines while the season 6 one is approaching a short novel? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.241.118.40 (talk) 00:10, 12 December 2009 (UTC)

Season pages

I noticed that Entourage didn't have season pages like Entourage (season 1) and so on. I say that these pages be created. CollisionCourse (talk) 23:22, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

With the length of some of the seasons' summaries, this has become necessary. I'm working on this right now.--Ben Wieneke (talk) 16:48, 31 August 2009 (UTC)

Season description

The season 6 description is too verbose compared to the other seasons and does not fit in. Sow 2009-October-12 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.142.120.89 (talk) 11:16, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Credits

There is a whole section in this article: i.e., "Kevin Connolly, Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara, and Jeremy Piven have been credited in every episode in the opening credits since season 1. Debi Mazar who had a recurring guest star role as Shauna in season 1 began to receive opening credits billing in season 2. Her appearances in season 3 were limited due to her pregnancy and Mazar made her final regular appearance in episode 42. Mazar has made appearances in seasons 4, 5, 6, and 7 and was credited as a special guest star. Mrs. Ari (Perrey Reeves) and Lloyd (Rex Lee) had recurring roles in the first two seasons. Starting in season 3, Reeves and Lee were credited as "starring" in the end credits in the episodes that they appeared in. After Debi Mazar left on maternity leave, Reeves replaced Mazar in the opening credits starting with season 4. Rex Lee was added to the opening credits starting with season 5. In season 4, Rhys Coiro's recurring character Billy Walsh was given a bigger role in the storyline, and Coiro was credited as "starring" in the first six episodes of the season. However, when his character returned in episode 52, he was again credited as a guest star. Gary Cole guest starred in three episodes of season 5 as agent Andrew Klein, beginning with season 6 he was credited as "starring" in the end credits, with season 7 he is credited as a guest star. Emmanuelle Chriqui has portrayed E's on-again, off-again girlfriend Sloan McQuewick (daughter of Malcolm McDowell's character Terrance McQuewick) as a recurring guest star from season 2 to 5, beginning with season 6 she was credited as "starring" in the end credits. Scott Caan guest starred in two episodes of season 6 as Scott Lavin, beginning with season 7 he was credited as "starring" in the end credits."

Can someone link to an article that makes a distinction between starring, guest starring, opening credits, and what it means to the actors involved?89.90.14.37 (talk) 21:59, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
