Extending this Article[edit]

This is my first contribution to Wikipedia so I hope I am doing this right. I am trying to extend this article. I am in the process of working on it, and will put a lot more into the canine epilepsy section, including more information on diagnosis and treatment (medications and natural treatments). Nice job. This article has needed some serious attention for some time. As far as citations go, you see all types of them on Wikipedia, and it's great to see that you are using inline citations. I would suggest that a phrase like "studies show that it affects 4% to 14% of dogs" should also have a cite, since you are referencing one or more studies.

As far as formatting citations, like I said there are a lot of ways of doing it. One way that seems complicated at first but gives uniformity to citations is the template method, which can be seen at Wikipedia:Citation templates. A nice shortcut for journal articles I've found is to use the PubMed ID number, the PMID. For instance, for the JAVMA article you cited, go to PubMed, put in "seizure classfication in dogs", and you'll see that the eighth article listed is the Podell one, PMID 7782244. Now, go to Wikipeida template filling, and put in that number. It gives you
