Title[edit]

This article has a crap title for its subject. SpinningSpark 23:28, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions? Equalization (communications)? --Kvng (talk) 13:16, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for not being very communicative. I had in mind that the subject of the article is limited to digital communications, but equalisation in communications is far wider than that. To an old engineer like me communications equaliser means one used on analogue land lines. SpinningSpark 15:22, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think rather than changing the title, that would be a valuable addition to the article. It's short enough as it is. Do you know of any material on equalizers used in analogue communications? Google was not very helpful, I'm afraid. --Drizzd (talk) 09:02, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I wrote Zobel network, lattice phase equaliser and bridged T delay equaliser which are all relevant, but limited to passive circuitry. SpinningSpark 19:17, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
...but I think the scope of the article is fine as it is - it just needs a more specific title. SpinningSpark 21:28, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I went ahead and added them despite your doubts. The article certainly needs more work, but I think it's better to keep it about communications in general rather than digitial communications. While their implementation may differ greatly, the concept of the equalizer is pretty much the same in both worlds after all. --Drizzd (talk) 20:56, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I just realized that we should merge the article with Equalization. That article already has sections for analogue and digital communications. --Drizzd (talk) 15:27, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you did you would be fighting the people over there who are busily chopping up that article into summary style. SpinningSpark 16:09, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
