I feel strongly that this contribution needs major editing because: 1) in its present form it does not adequately describe the complexity of the individual, causally unrelated, specific disease processes that comprise this syndrome; 2) it contains a number of serious factual errors, either because of misinterpretation of the available information or presentation of facts for which there is no credible documentation; 3) the majority of references cited are not the primary source of the specific information that is presented, which is a disservice to the readers and the researchers who did the original studies. The proposed editing will attempt to adequately redress these issues.

Go for it. Glad to assist you with formatting and structure, the big thing is to read WP:CITE to add or update sources. The only caveat I will add is to not remove citations that are already there - if they are accurate. The Horse reports on many studies and is a reliable source that is readable by a layperson, though of course if you can cite to the original study, that's fantastic and definitely welcomed.
