Eric Dill's page should not be redirected to The Click Five. Eric Dill left the band in 2006 and has his own solo career now. Well, Eric Dill is the original lead singer of The Click Five who sang on their best-selling first album but he left the band in 2006 and now has a solo recording career and is much more well known than the current lead singer Kyle Patrick who sings on The Click Five's lesser-selling second album, but for whatever reason Kyle Patrick has his own Wikipedia page which does not redirect to The Click Five page whereas Eric Dill who doesn't want to be associated with his former band is automatically redirected to The Click Five page. It seems counterintuitive to have this happen. As for some sources of information, you can read Eric Dill's latest bio and news and listen to his solo songs at his Official Website http://www.ericdill.com and his MySpace page http://www.myspace.com/ericdill Additionally, Eric Dill has also embarked on an acting career and recently starred in the teen comedy "Taking 5". Eric Dill's IMDB acting credit page can be found at this link http://us.imdb.com/name/nm2444143/ Also, here is a link to a recent interview that a magazine did with Eric Dill about his solo career http://starrymag.com/content.asp?ID=2157 So, taking all this into account, it doesn't seem that Eric Dill the solo singer and actor should be denied his own Wikipedia page and only have his name redirect people to a band that he isn't even associated with any longer. The consensus at the RfD was that he has no independent notability. I think that's still true; a one-entry imdb page and self-created myspace page do nothing to establish note. The Blade of the Northern Lights - continued harassment[edit]

Please ban user "The Blade of the Northern Lights" from continuing to redirect and harass the state of Eric Dill's Wikipedia page. The page needs to be unlocked and reverting back to before this users meddling and obviously ill-intended "edits" of this page. I would like to resolve an issue related to Eric Dill’s Wikipedia Page. As you probably know, the issue concerns the current status of his page which redirects to the page of the Click Five.

The purpose of this statement is to request the moderators of Eric Dill’s page (1) to stop redirecting his page to the page of Click Five and (2) allow Eric Dill to have his own independent page. In particular, this statement requests reverting the Eric Dill’s page to the configuration shown as edited by 198.228.216.19 (talk) at 19:59, 20 August 2012. Below, numerous evidences proving that Eric Dill is a solo artist are presented. For your convenience, there are stated in separate paragraphs.

• Eric Dill has a solo record entitled “War with the Wolves”. It has been already broadcasted at radio. The former lead singer of the Click Five talks about why he decided to go solo with his new EP “Wherever You Are” and his forthcoming full-length album.”

• An article in Teen.Com states that “Eric Dill from the pop group The Click Five, (does this song ring a bell, you guys?) but now the lead vocalist is on his own with a solo career”. I'm not going to take a position for or against your request, but I will say that the issue is not whether Mr. Dill is a solo artist as it sounds like you are assuming. The issue is whether Mr. Dill meets Wikipedia's notability criteria for inclusion independent of his association with The Click Five. In order to do that, he must have been the topic of non-trivial coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. The version you want this page reverted to does not contain that, and that is why it was reverted to a redirect.
I will say that the sources you have provided have made the strongest argument thus far in favor of a stand-alone article on Mr. Dill. I will leave the edit request open for other users to comment, as I personally don't like converting redirects into articles when they have had such a tendentious history of edit warring. —KuyaBriBriTalk 14:28, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

One of the notability criterions (Criterion Number 11) for musician published at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(music) states that a musician may be notable if he has been placed in rotation nationally by a major radio or music television network.

In this regard, I would like to note that the solo songs of Eric Dill “Wherever you are” and “War With the Wolves”, “No Surprise”, “Mercy at Midnight”, “The Girl Always Wins”, and “I will Come Back to You” are included in the Last.Fm’s list of songs. Last.fm is not a national radio service. What the policy refers to is a company such as Clear Channel Media that runs radio band music broadcasting services from radio towers in real life (not internet radio). I understand that, pursuant to the Criterion Number 17, a song rotated in a national radio MAY lead to classifying the singer as notable. However, in the present case, we have a person whose song has been broadcasted in at least two national radios (mentioned above).

There is no doubt that a person whose song is currently broadcasted through major national radios should be included in the criteria as notable. This is because the person has clearly shown that he is not an amateur, but a professional singer who has a song broadcasted in major radio stations having traditions in the United States. As mentioned above, WQPO went on the air in 1946 as WSVA-FM and it was the third FM radio in the state – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WQPO. KZLT operates in Montana since 1954 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KLTZ.

The Notability Criteria mentioned in Wikipedia aim to differentiate notable in the society persons deserving a Wikipedia page from persons who, at the present moment, are not notable. In this connection, it should be pointed out that, not considering a person whose songs have been broadcasted in national radios having more than half a century tradition in the broadcasting industry may have terrible consequences for (1) the listeners and (2) the singer. Below, these consequences are explained in more detail starting from the consequences to the listeners. A song broadcasted in two stations having long traditions will certainly attract thousands of curious listeners willing to know who the singer is. When they look at Wikipedia, they will find that he is a member of a band. But he is not. This will create confusion amongst the listeners. They may ask the following questions: “Why does he not have an independent page? Probably because he is not notable? But he is broadcasted on the radio 5 times a day?”.

The main purpose of Wikipedia is to help people. With regard to pages of musicians, Wikipedia strives to strike the balance between informing people about famous musicians and not putting information that is not so important for the society. However, when a singer has songs broadcasted in the radio, the readers should know about his success. They should know about his fame. Moreover, the reputation of the singer will be harmed if he is still connection to his previous band. This is because people will not be able to identify him as a solo artist and buy his solo albums and songs which are already available on the market ( http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/ericdill ), but will identify him as a part of the band and buy the albums of the band.

It is your chance, dear moderators, to show that your care about the readers of Wikipedia and you care about the right of a singer to have his individual success reflected in his independent page.

None of the above addresses the reason I redirected this, which is that it's an unsourced biography of a living person. Therefore, it can stay a redirect until someone gets a source; however, I'm in no way convinced he meets notability guidelines.
