Change[edit]

Someone needs to add his new club "Barcelona"under the "Manchester City". TeraRoadMaga (talk) 12:23, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Garcia won't officially join Barcelona until his City contract expires at the end of June. Until then, he remains a City player, cheers. Kosack (talk) 12:26, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Eric García (footballer, born 2001)Eric GarcíaWP:PRIMARYTOPIC -- The FC Barcelona is way more famous than the other "Eric", and when someone searches up "Eric García" on Wikipedia, it's almost exclusively to view this article. This topic on this article meets both of the criteria at WP:PTOPIC, and should therefore be moved to Eric García. SpaceCowboy1207 (talk) 01:19, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose - page views are not indicative of a PRIMARYTOPIC - see Eric Garcia disambig page. GiantSnowman 19:54, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - not enough notability at present, it is possible he may be more notable in the future for this to be the primary topic. Though massviews shows a clear standout winner in terms of views per day. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 21:16, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. No primary topic here. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:32, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

– Bit puzzled by the above discussion's lack of rigor, but Eric Garcia (writer) gets about 100 pageviews/day if you include the one-month spike for Kaleidoscope, so perhaps there's no runaway primary topic. There well may be a partially disambiguated primary topic of Eric García (footballer), but positions (one match notwithstanding) should be more standard/desirable disambiguators than than year of birth. Hameltion (talk | contribs) 21:27, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose per WP:NCSP#Association football (soccer). Footballers are disambiguated by nationality, birth year, or position, in that order. 162 etc. (talk) 21:44, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose, this is fine as per WP:NCSP and the DAB page does a fine enough job of disambiguating.--Ortizesp (talk) 05:33, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose - no PRIMARYTOPIC, and anyway the proposed alternative moves show deep ignorance, positions and nationalities are fluid, YOBs are not and that is why they are always preferred. GiantSnowman 15:17, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. YOB is standard disambiguation for footballers. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:28, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
