Let's get this thing started. Sure, we're not in the USNews Top 10 Public Schools, but that doesn't mean we can't have a wikipedia page.--Jmalc 17:31, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ernie Davis Middle School[edit]

A 16 Jun 2015 article in the Elmira Star-Gazette says the Elmira Free Academy occupied the middle school building from 1913 to Sep 1964, at which point Ernie Davis Middle School was established and operated for 50 years. At its closure in 2014, the name of the middle school was apparently preserved in the Ernie Davis Academy, which is also a middle school. The coincident merger of the high schools in Elmira doesn't suggest that the Ernie Davis Academy replaced the Elmira Free Academy. I don't live in the area so I would recommend a local Wikipedian look into this and update the article if needed. I would recommend a history of the pertinent school buildings would help clarify matters, but also point out this article covers a lot of ground and might need a broader title. Food for thought.
