Notability[edit]

Does this book meet notability requirements? See Wikipedia:Notability (books).

  1. Subject of 2+ non-trivial independent sources (This excludes media re-prints of press releases, flap copy, or other publications where the author, its publisher, agent, or other self-interested parties advertise or speak about the book.) -- This might be met. There are three pieces cited, on the Forbidden Planet (retail chain) website, on Syfy.com (an interview with the author) and on AIPT Comics. The first of those is a retailer, so this is promotional; the other two might count but look a bit bloggy to me.
  2. The book has won a major literary award. Nominated as (not won) Book for the Year by the Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards, which I don't think is major. Not met.
  3. The book has been considered by reliable sources to have made a significant contribution -- No.
  4. subject of instruction at two or more educational establishments -- No.
  5. book's author is really historically significant -- No.

Answer@Bobfrombrockley::  Yes, apparently it does. See your own assessment of sources (first criterion). And adding those: in French and Spanish at least. And also this and this. So I really see no reason to leave the tag on top of the page. Can I entrust you to remove it? thank you! Yours, — MY, OH, MY! 10:34, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
These all seem like low quality sites to me (self-published/churnalism/review sites/fan , and in the flap copy/promo category. E.g. the third source in that comment includes stuff like this: John Walsh has told me that he has 100 official bookplates to give away to fans that leave an Amazon Review for the book... You can watch the video below about how to claim your exclusive bookplate, which John will sign for you. But there are clearly a bunch of these sorts of reviews, so I'll remove the tag. Thank you. AIPT, ScreenRant and Critique-Film are really OK, I find. Thanks for removing the tag. — MY, OH, MY! 11:14, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
