The picture shows the Rohirrim not the men of Lake Town. It is a multicultural kingdom with people from all lands and with black, brown skin, etc., along with norse peope. reference to "capitalism" not fitting[edit]

the reference to this "richard" man cannot be serious. his own page here read he is a right-wing climate denier. not some literature teacher. Yoandri Dominguez Garcia 02:04, 25 May 2020 (UTC). nevermind fiction articles so many ain't needed.

Assuming you mean Jay W. Richards in the first cite, he's published by Ignatius Press here, so it's not his weightiest work, but he's certainly not just some random guy.

I don't know that he's a climate change denier, but he is a creationist, so it would surprise me. Given the subject of the article -- a fictional town in The Hobbit -- we can't exactly expect in-depth coverage from peer-reviewed journals. Esgaroth → Lake-town (Middle-earth) – Per COMMONNAME, as Lake-town is clearly the more well-known name for this topic. Devonian Wombat (talk) 23:54, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose: I do not favour this move, as "Esgaroth" is the most distinctive name, and the "grown-up" name used by Tolkien outside The Hobbit and (even) inside it. If editors consider a move necessary, I would suggest Tolkien's form "Lake-town". There are other places named "Lake Town" but none called "Lake-town" so the disambiguator "(Middle-earth)" is unnecessary. Chiswick Chap (talk) 07:40, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose Per WP:NATURAL which states that the next most common name be used to avoid having to disambiguate. I do not believe "Lake-town" is unique enough not to merit a disambiguation either._{ZXCVBNM (TALK)} 16:23, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
