Why does the oxidized bronze appear to be white paint?[edit]

in that photo of that Chicago statue, Eternal Silence, Why does the oxidized bronze appear to be white paint? Or is this just an artifact of the digital photo and my monitor screen? It does indeed look green in person. I thought it looked a bit white in close crop myself, but if you click through the photo in the article to its highest resolution, it does look green. At least from my end. IvoShandor (talk) 02:53, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
