Won the Tchaikovsky?[edit]

Is it accurate to say (lede) that he "won" the Tchaikovsky Competition? We make clear lower down that "He achieved the highest prize awarded (second prize, shared with two other violinists) in the International Tchaikovsky Competition" . Seems to me that nobody "won", but Fodor and 2 other competitors did better than anyone else. If the highest award they awarded that year was 4th Prize, would we say the winner of that prize "won the competition"? I don't think so. He did win. As Tchaikovsky was a Russian composer, however, the Soviets were loathe to award the prize to anyone not a Russian/Soviet they so solved their dilemma by awarding no 1st place prize and demoting Eugene Fodor to share the 2nd place prize with 2 others.
