Notability[edit]

Gab4gab, you should take it easy with those notability templates. There is certain agreement with notability for the football clubs as you probably know. I agree that the article does acutely need to have references added. Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 15:09, 9 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Gab4gab, please, understand me correctly. I already had similar issue taking place with another club being deleted for no reason. The club is pretty notable and won national competitions, but one of wikipedians called it a sportspam. (Please, see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/FC Luzhany). I am unaware of any consensus suggesting that football clubs are typically notable. Identifying any that exist would be most helpful. I do have "This guideline does not cover sports teams. For guidance, please see Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies)." from WP:NSPORTS. A quick search at Afd shows that football clubs are often deleted or redirected to the league page due to lack of notability. In any case notability always requires published coverage by independent reliable sources. In this case the items cited are published by a federation the subject is a member of, thus not independent. Also, the coverage consists entirely of contest result statistics, leaving this clubs notability uncertain. The point of the tag is to encourage other editors to find references to the type of coverage required by the notability guidelines. Once references are produced that establish notability I'm fine with removing the tag. At this point it doesn't appear to meet WP:ORG. Gab4gab (talk) 15:56, 9 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
