Shortening the plot summary[edit]

The Bruce Dern character[edit]

This character, George Lumley, was previously described in the plot summary as "taxi driver / con man". In the film he says he is an (I have to assume unemployed) actor, and he works as a taxi driver in order to earn some money. I would not exactly call him or his girlfriend Blanche Tyler "con artists", although yes, she is a fake psychic and yes, he helps her out by snooping around to provide the facts she needs in order to appear as if she has real psychic skills. Have you actually seen the movie?[edit]
