  • Comment: Proofreading to both the hook of the article are welcome. I wanted to include the fact that apparently she's the youngest recipient of the "Journalist in the country" as a hook, but I have failed to find this in the cited sources.

  • I have tried to remove the flags but have been unable to find either of the awards mentioned in English language sources. The sources currently given seem to be general news links that no longer support the statements given, but perhaps someone can find better ones. Terrific subject for an article! • I would suggest that the paragraph about awards be moved to the talk page, with a request for people to find sources that would support its return to the article, so that the DYK process can proceed, without that information. Mary Mark Ockerbloom (talk) 15:07, 4 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The article is long enough and new enough. I assume good faith on the non-English references. The hook is directly cited. A QPQ has been completed. I don't see her birth date in the two sources. The 5th reference strangely doesn't show the article, but it instead has a countdown from 2 and then sends me to a registration page. The 6th reference doesn't mention "Farahnaz Forotan began working with Noorin TV, a private television station in Kabul, Afghanistan, at a young age" and "She worked at three of the main television broadcasting stations in Afghanistan between 2012 and 2020". The 11th reference is a dead link. SL93 (talk) 11:11, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • @SL93: I've done another round of cleanup to address these points. I was able to source "three of the main... " and the year but not the rest of her birthdate. I've deleted the dead links. Mary Mark Ockerbloom (talk) 19:47, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I'm approving this. SL93 (talk) 19:55, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Awards[edit]

Per the comment at the DYK nomination page, I've pulled these claims from the article as they have failed verification:

Farahnaz Forotan was awarded "Journalist in the country" by Afghanistan's Free Media Association in 2015.[1][2] She is the youngest female journalist in the country to have been a recipient of the highest national Afghan award from the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan's government, at the age of twenty-three.[1][2][failed verification]
