Sandbox Feedback[edit]

Hey, I checked out your sandbox and was really impressed. I'm kind of writing about blogs as well but more on the their affect on hip-hop music. The way you organized your article seems perfect and I am looking forward to reading the end product!Sjeanbap (talk) 23:03, 14 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Additional feedback[edit]

I also had a look at your sandbox and agree you are well on track. The few areas where improvement is possible is mostly aesthetic. For example there are instances where you capitalize Blog and others where you do not. I personally hold that it is not part of the proper name. Either way you should be consistent with your manner of delivery. I think the section names you have preliminarily chosen can be further refined according to WP:MOSHEAD. The only area I caution you to consider is the emergence of a pro-bias in the 'Criticism' section. By prefacing the criticism with "Although feminist blogs have provided a useful addition ..." you subliminally suggest the conclusion you want the reader to achieve. It is better to present the criticism on its merits alone and allow the reader to conclude its relative significance. Otherwise you have done a good job with a topic that is inherently controversial simply because there still remains a lot of systemic bias within our own culture to these regards. Kudos to you for a willingness to write on the fringe of contention, and a rather good approach at doing so. My76Strat (talk) 04:41, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Peer review[edit]

Hi, Your article is really great! It's very informative and the set-up is nice. I just have a few notes:

The sentence "These blogs are different from other mainstream blogs because they are political with the addition of containing an individual testimony" could be flow better if you changed the part where you say "with the addition of." Similarly, I think the sentence "Feminist blogs can be read by anyone with access to the Internet that promotes a cross-cultural atmosphere effective for gaining insight and perspective on feminist issues around the world." sounds slightly ambiguous when you say, "Internet that promotes..." For the sentence "Collaborative blogs in the feminist realm are more community-based in which they provoke conversation and discussion," the phrasing "as they" instead of "in which" may be a better choice. Also, the sentence "Feminist blogs have provided a useful addition to the feminist movement, there are some criticisms as to whether or not blogging potentially promotes activism." seems incomplete. Lastly, I would just suggest including more citations, especially for your History section. You've done a really great job and have made a very interesting, strong article. Keep up the good work, Aja99 (talk) 01:13, 26 October 2011 (UTC)Aja99[reply]

I agree, this article is coming along very nicely. And agree with aja99 that it could use more sources. I would not worry about technical wording and phrases until your finished, then you and others can go back and comment and critique.Meatsgains (talk) 01:23, 26 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I like the way you organized the article, it is very clear and has very relevant subtopics. Something that may contribute to the article is defining what feminism is and the various implications it has. You can then transition into how blogging is a new outlet for the feminist movement. I also sugest adding more to each topic, especially to sections like "history" and "criticism". I was able to find an article from the UMass Library database that might be of help to you, tittled, "Reflections on Feminism, Blogging, and the Historical Profession". The link is: http://muse.jhu.edu/journals/journal_of_womens_history/v022/22.4.leow.html Best of luck! Odolgopo (talk) 17:00, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, like what the people above me stated, I like the way you organized the article, it makes it very easy to find the information/what you are looking for. I know you are not completely done and bet you have a lot to add, but maybe you could add a little more to the history of feminist blogs? You could possibly talk about the first couple of 'hit' feminist blogs and how they had an impact on society and the feminist movement at that particular time. I think your article is really interesting, can't wait to see the finished project! Mtomao (talk) 14:20, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
