Caveat lector[edit]

A previous editor left the remark in a comment: "caveat lector: the source may not be right about Germanicus". This was after the sentence "About twenty members of the imperial family are honored as divi, divinized mortals, including six women and Germanicus, who was never an emperor." I'll try to puzzle this out. Might Kreitzer be wrong that Germanicus is included? that Germanicus was never an emperor? or that Germanicus was honoured as a diuus? The answers to the first two questions must be no. As to the third, yes, fair enough: Germanicus is not called a diuus in the Feriale; he gets a supplicatio memoriae Germanici rather than simply an ox or whatever offered to him directly. So this isn't quite the same as divine honours. Q·L·1968 06:08, 6 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
