Move to Europe[edit]

There are rumors that Fernando will move to a European team on January's transfer window. So far, Olympiacos and Porto compete in order to sign him. Greek Media say that his move to Olympiacos is almost a done deal. I think the author of the article should take that into consideration.--Goldimit (talk) 17:43, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, it is not a place for speculation about possible transfers. If you can provide a reliable source linking a player with a move to a particular club, the text may be allowed to remain, but without any reliable sources speculation should be deleted on sight. • OK, I got it. It's just that I've read several wikipedia articles that document current events and therefore info is added or changed very often. For example in Neri Castillo's wiki article it was documented that Man. City was interested in signing him, but to tell you the truth I didn't pay much attention to that article in order to see if the author would delete those lines. I got one final question, when you say reliable source, you mean a source that provides information that the transfer is done or that says the parties are in talks?--Goldimit (talk) 10:01, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
IMO, when transfer is done. WP is an encyclopedia, not a sports magazine. Talks for future transfer are not encyclopedic. -- Alexf(Talk/Contribs) 12:14, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Video[edit]

I think it should be added this amazing video with all his goals and assists in the external links or in the article, maybe who wants to read about a player also wants to see how he's good: http://www.recontragolazo.com/?p=666 that's encyclopedic I think. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.104.73.33 (talkcontribs)

I agree its a good video, but It's copyright status is not clear, therefore unfortunately it shouldn't be linked. King of the NorthEast 16:29, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Confusing: 50% rights[edit]

To me, "On 6 July 2009, F.C. Porto signed Belluschi 50% rights for €5 million." is confusing, as someone who knows little about soccer. Among other things, a preposition seems to be missing. Can someone expand on this a bit? An extended discussion would probably detract, but there has to be some way that the 50% rights bit can be explained to the layman.—C45207 | Talk 09:56, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

1.just like Tevez (100& MSI)and Lucho González (50% GSA). Probably Olympiacos FC only bought 50% and can only able to sell its 50% Or
2. Olympiacos only sell 50% and own remain 50%

I guess I need to rephrase my question/request: is "50% rights" a common term? If so, does the sentence read correctly (not missing any words)? Can it be linked to another article? Which article? If not, can a brief explanation be included in the article? (i.e., does he play one game for team A, and then another for team B?) I'm asking rhetorical questions in the hopes of improving the article (and, as a side benefit, for my own education). Thanks.—C45207 | Talk 11:11, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Fernando Belluschi's playing rights belong 50% to Olympiakos and 50% to his football agent Pini Zahavi. So Olympiakos FC could only sell his 50% share which he owned. This usualy happens ,so the agent and the player can easily push a team for a potential transfer. Sakis_S | Talk 22:18, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Is there really no article on playing rights that we can link to? Off to Wikipedia:Requested_articles/Sports#Misc... Again, thanks for the answers, but it probably would have been better if someone familiar with the concept edited the page. I've done so, but my terminology, phrasing, &c. may not be right.—C45207 | Talk 05:16, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It is something law concept. Economic rights may include the rights to sell shirts. Matthew_hk tc 13:37, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
