please change his club to "Bayern Munchen II" Please add another line under 'Early Years' at the end stating that "on the 15th August 2012 Fernando Llorente signed for Bayern Munich for an estimated $40 million" Sridles (talk) 23:05, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. Unsourced, probably because no such transfer has happened. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 07:14, 16 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Juventus[edit]

Yes, we know he's signed a preliminary deal with Juventus. The article says that in the lead (the introduction at the top) and in the body. Until 1 July 2013 we don't need to change his current club to Juve, add Juve to the information box, change his Bilbao dates to end in 2013 or create a new section for Juve. We can leave that until 1 July 2013 - honestly we can. So please don't change it until then, as attractive as it might be to do so - he's still a Bilbao player until that date (and there have, if I recall correctly, been odd occasions where players have, for whatever reason, not actually ended up with the club they apparently signed for). Thanks Blue Square Thing (talk) 15:29, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • I think the entire JUVENTUS negotiations/signing belongs only in CLUB CAREER, not in intro. In intro, come 1 JULY, we'll have, instead of "Fernando Llorente Torres is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for Athletic Bilbao as a striker", "Fernando Llorente Torres is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for Juventus FC in Italy (or "in Serie A") as a striker". --AL (talk) 19:10, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've left a message on my talk as well, but just to say that I'd rather hope the lead also included a paragraph about his years at Bilbao - which have been significant. Quite how we structure the rest of the article is interesting - at the minute we have Club career. Thoughts would be welcome... Blue Square Thing (talk) 19:19, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ah, i think i get what you mean now, split the CLUB CAREER section...since he will move to a different club in JULY 2013, the CLUB CAREER should definitely have a sub-section ATHLETIC BILBAO and JUVENTUS one. You reverted a guy that i think had a good thing going man. --AL (talk) 15:58, 25 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

2016 Serie A honour?[edit]

Don't want to annoy anyone by changing stuff (again) when I don't know the rules, but should Llorente be credited with the 2015-16 Serie A honour when he only played 1 league game for Juve before moving to Sevilla? In other countries this wouldn't qualify him for a medal...Crowsus (talk) 18:41, 3 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • It does, and the runner-up places also count!! This is getting really annoying... --Quite A Character (talk) 16:50, 24 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies for the latter, seems there is (finally!) a consensus to remove the runner-up accolades in players. However, Llorente gets his 2015-16 medal with Juventus, one game is enough. --Quite A Character (talk) 18:30, 24 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 31 August 2017: Wrong nationality[edit]

Tottenham are not a Welsh club, they're English. Someone must have not changed the nationality with the club change as Swansea City are a Welsh club. 86.161.7.211 (talk) 22:26, 31 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

 Done fixed. Govvy (talk) 22:57, 31 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Should we use the Basque name template instead?[edit]

Per Spanish naming customs#Basque names and this person's roots in an area of Spain where the naming custom exists, would it make sense to use the {{Basque name}} hatnote instead of the Spanish hatnote? jd22292 (Jalen D. Folf) (talk) 00:13, 1 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No, because he is from a part of Spain which speaks only Castilian (La Rioja), his birthplace Pamplona is a mixed linguistic community, as far as I know he does not speak Basque other than a casual awareness due to its presence in the area, and both his family names are of non-Basque origin. The user 86.173.147.108, made an edit to this page saying he played 92 games for Juventus which should be reverted back to 66 since the infobox is for League only. 86.180.163.70 (talk) 11:05, 1 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Retain and release list[edit]

Crowsus Please, I don't mind you editing, even adding information, but that edit you did completely contradicted the primary source from the Premier League. You shouldn't write the opposite. The source clearly shows Llorente on the list for released players. Please remember Vincent Janssen last season they didn't register him to play and dropped him from the squad even know he was still at the club. HITC reference doesn't really help or add much value either, it's all about assumption and isn't bing factual which is what wikipedia expects more from their use of sources. Statistics[edit]

The statistics for his time at Tottenham Hotspur are very wrong; just by reading the article below he had scored atleast 11 goals. I suspect the appearances are also incorrect. SRYTtech (talk) 20:14, 26 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
