Correct name?[edit]

I see that this article has been titled using the rather clumsy "F1" suffix. As far as I am aware, and from the vast majority of sources available, both contemporary and modern, the car was always referred to as the "Ferrari Dino 246". This includes luminaries such as Doug Nye and Autocourse. I realise that the "official" Ferrari website lists the car using the current page name, but that site has been guilty of revisionism in other names and so should not be taken as an absolute authority on proper titles. Would anyone mind if I switched the page to its proper name? Pyrope 07:57, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm guessing the "F1" suffix was used:
  • to distinguish this vehicle from the "246 Dino" road/sports car, described here.
  • for "consistency" with Ferrari 156 F1.
Note that I'm not saying I necessarily support the current name, just that that's probably where it came from. Most sources I'm familiar with refer to this car as a "Dino 246" (or "246 Dino"). DH85868993 08:41, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
