Chilliwack/Lower Mainland category switch[edit]

It is very rare for a provincial park to be located within municipal boundaries, unless it stretches a good ways outside that municipality, e.g. Golden Ears' southern tip in Maple Ridge, parts of Garibaldi Park within the RMOW. Generally provincial parks within municipalities are transferred either to regional district jurisdiction or to municipal jurisdiction. When they're not, like Indian Reserves, they only happen to be within the municipality's boundaries, are are not governed by it. In this case I'm also pretty sure - but not sure - that this park is just outside Chiliwack's boundaries; it's northeast of Rosedale, NW of Bridal Falls, and just east of the Agassiz-Rosedale bridge. I tried finding a municipal boundary map but wouldncha know it those are hard to find, as are park-boundary maps....I think this is the park, which must underlay the south abutmnet of the bridge, where you see all the campers along the viverbank for fishing, though the geo-centre of it is on the other side of the bridge. The new simplified version of Basemap doesn't have boundaries on it, t he Land and Data Resource Warehouse Catalgue verion used to, but the government in its wisdom now charges us for access to that data/visual display.....and y'know, I'm scratching my head trying to think of a provincial park that's fully within municipal boundaries....and really can't think of one, especially in the Lower Mainland....Skookum1 (talk) 03:43, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
