I created this page as ferries were not covered in Brisbane Transport. I think a lot of work could be done on these pages. I also have a list of all mono hull ferries currently in service with their vital statistics however I am not up to putting in a table yet anyone that can help, it would be appreciated --Matt 06:51, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, there was another vehicular ferry down near where the Gateway bridge is now - stopped running in 1988 I think, it was called James Holt vehicular ferry (but I'm not 100% sure.) 59.167.50.111 22:04, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If someone can find information about when the Dutton Park Ferry opened, could they please put it in this page? Thanks!

citations[edit]

I have removed the refimprove tag as it is not helpful in an article that has a reasonable level of citations. I encourage editors to use {{fact}} where neccesary and also to check the existing refs to ensure they have not already dealt with that issue --Matt (talk) 02:30, 25 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Link Rot[edit]

It would appear that a number of reference sources (Nos. 2, 6, 8) have suffered link rot and are no longer available. I have started searching to find appropriate replacements and/or new addresses, if anyone else wishes to help search this out, please feel free. --Matt (talk) 08:12, 26 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

When is a ferry a ship and vice versa?[edit]

Any thoughts as to when a ferry is a ship and vice versa? http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:StateLibQld_1_90444_Kuranda_%28ship%29.jpg. With a route like that, is this a ferry or a ship? Factrules (talk) 05:23, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I would say it is a ferry service conducted by a ship since the service was regular. - Shiftchange (talk) 06:48, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Other ferry services[edit]

As this article has expanded significantly in the last week it might be a good time to ensure it is comprehensive. I know of the Noosa River Ferry and a ferry service that once crossed the Logan River as depicted in this photo. Are there any more which are not currently mentioned in the article? - Shiftchange (talk) 00:39, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Noosa and Logan done. Any more known of?Factrules (talk) 07:45, 16 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know any off-hand. I do know the article needs an expanded lead section, excess bold text removed, most of the lists in point form need conversion to prose and the references needs tidying to get to B class. - Shiftchange (talk) 08:06, 16 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
