Historical municipality[edit]

Fet stopped existing as a municipality 1 January 2020. I think maybe the Municipality template should be removed to avoid confusing this with an existing municipality. Offentlig sektor (talk) 11:34, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

– None of these three-letter municipalities appears to have primary topic status. Compare the pageviews of, for example, Fet to FET (timetabling software) and Field-effect transistor, Hol to Hol (role-playing game) and HOL (proof assistant), Sel to Sel (group) (side note: Sel (disambiguation) and SEL ought to be merged), and Vik to Vík í Mýrdal and Vic (name). And the first pages of results on Google Scholar and Books mention many topics, rarely these places. Hameltion (talk | contribs) 14:16, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment. Even within Norway, Vik is often called Vik i Sogn to distinguish it from Vik i Helgeland. In other words, Vik, Norway is ambiguous as well. "Vik i Sogn" gives me 124,000 Ghits, so I propose moving to that. Geschichte (talk) 10:13, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. Vik i Sogn might be Vik, Sogn though In ictu oculi (talk) 17:29, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support as to all, and I'm fine with either Vik i Sogn or Vik, Sogn as the target for Vik. There are no primary topics for these TLAs. The disambiguation pages should be moved to the base page name in each case. BD2412 T 20:59, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
