Release date[edit]

I completely agree. All the sources that we have say 26th April in UK, and 27th in North America. All changes to other dates, without a source will be considered vandalism, as introducing false information. TheWeakWilled (T * G) 14:27, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Genre[edit]

Regardless if the new album could be hard rock, or another type of music, bullet for my valentine music is mainly metalcore, and the 2 songs that have been heard doesnt seem to change that main style, so Im going to put just metalcore if its ok, but for other gengres we should better wait for the album to come out and then search for the sources in album reviews and all that stuff.--201.208.37.93 (talk) 04:11, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

We should not put any genres in the article or infobox unless they are backed up by reliable sources specifically referring to this album in their descriptions. We cannot rely on our own interpretations of the songs. We are not a reliable source. Timmeh 01:39, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think that adding a genre with its reliable source should stay there, and may be edited when the album is released. For example, I was reading on a Metal Hammer blog about an interview with Matthew Tuck, where he stated: “The vibe of the album is a heavy, hard rock album with metal influences, rather than a metal album with hard rock influences.” Sirius_128 21:26, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

For genres, we must use third-party reliable sources. Tuck is not a third-party source; he is not a professional music critic, and he could have a biased view of the album's genre. Why is this listed as hard rock/heavy Metal? This is where common sense plays in. I don't care if Allmusic and Rolling Stone are Calling it Disco/Funk Rock, if you have ears you will know that is bullcrap. Again we have people putting "Hard Rock" as a genre for this album. Please stop! I added a reference to back up my point also so perhaps that will tell them to piss off.

First single? Label?[edit]

While doing a little research to expand this article, I noticed some conflicting sources. Early this year, it was announced that the first single from the then-untitled-album would be "Your Betrayal" released on March 9. However, since the title has been publicly announced, while there are still some claiming "Your Betrayal" is the first single, others now claim "The Last Fight" will be the first single to be released on April 19. The official press release from Jive Records (a copy of the press release was published by glasswerk) claims the first single will be "Your Betrayal" while bbc and rock sound claim "The Last Fight" will be first. It's also interesting to note that the press release states that the band "returns with its third Jive album, Fever," yet none of the album articles on Wikipedia list Jive as the label. The Bullet for My Valentine article makes note of the label in the infobox and category, but nowhere else. The label should be changed from Sony BMG to Jive, and perhaps the singles should be removed from the infobox until further notice. Fezmar9 (talk) 19:42, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

BBC doesn't claim "The Last Fight" will be the first single, just that it will be a single. The Rock Sound source says it will be the first UK single. BBC doesn't explicitly state it will be the first. It says that Fever will be preceded by the single, which I think implicitly states that it will be the first. Especially since it doesn't even mention "Your Betrayal". And sure, it absolutely could be different from country to country, but I do not see any direct evidence of that right now. Which was kind of my point here. The sources are not exactly clear and consistent, so any information about the singles should be removed until it's known for sure. FMQB says the song goes to radio March 8, before the release date of "The Last Fight". Also, both your links are to British websites, so I think the case may be that "Your Betrayal" is the first single in the US while "The Last Fight" is the first in the UK. Let's make sure this article reflects the official and wide release of singles. I know that the radio program Loveline sometimes debut's full-length albums with the artist's as guests, but I certainly wouldn't call that an album release. Part of defining a reliable source is that it should be a third-party source, and not directly related to the subject. And sure, there are instances where a first-party source is acceptable, however band websites are highly susceptible to link rot. Band websites are generally updated annually, and old news posts are deleted. It would be best to find a source that will still be available in the future. I've reverted additions of a full track listing several times. When I checked yesterday, not even the official site had the track listing confirmed. First single[edit]

Well on the band's twitter it's now saying that the first single is The Last Fight. We've had this problem before...so should it be changed or not? Newsteadgirl (talk) 16:47, 20 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I know it's just confusing, even in the same band's official website there is controversy. Your Betrayal was released on iTunes first, but The Last Fight video was released early; We cannot be sure which single is cosidered first. For now I suggest to wait. The result of the above discussion was that the lead single is different in the US and UK. However, it is still a little tricky to make heads or tails of the sources available, and this guess may constitute as original research. All encyclopedic content must be verifiable. If you would like to include these reviews, please also provide a citation. In this case, you should use the Cite Journal template. You absolutely can source Kerrang, you just cannot link it online. Simply fill out what you know in a Cite Journal template, and place it between two ref tags (<ref> here </ref>). 2009 Mayhem Festival Song[edit]

The song that they played during the 2009 Mayhem Festival was a demo version of "Pleasure and Pain", by listeing to the previews of the album you can hear that they changed some words around for example the chorus, which Matt sings: "So who do you think you are? This constitutes as original research, as it is only supported by your synthesis of various sources. We have two sources here that explicitly claim the song played was "Your Betrayal," yet the video of the song does not match what we now know as "Your Betrayal." Was this an early version of "Your Betrayal" that was later reworked into "Pleasure and Pain"? Or perhaps the video is from a different festival? A number of variables come to mind. The most accurate way to display this information, and comply with wikipedia guidelines and policies, is to leave out mention of the title and just say "the band played a new song". "Fever" Japanese Version[edit]

I've been researching a little bit about the Japanese Version of Fever, and there are two of them. The standard edition, which it's already in the article, contains 3 extra bonus tracks which are 3 of the 4 bonus tracks used in Scream Aim Fire (Deluxe Edition); However, there is a "Limited Edition" which contained a DVD.
