Leftist orientation[edit]

What I loved in the movie? Many things, superb acting of Sai Pallavi and excellent direction of Sekhar Kammula. The thing that attracted me most was the realistic portrayal of Bhanumati's home with Karl Marx on the wall. That photo frame attracted me to the movie. It's not a surprise that the director has not given any consideration to money making. His choice of the actress Sai Pallavi as the strong, Romantic Indian farmer girl is superb.
