Paul Gipe has an excellent summary of FiT past, current and projected incentives: [1] Mrshaba (talk) 19:06, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Clarifications requested to intro[edit]

A government may offer incentives in order to encourage the PV industry to achieve the economies of scale needed to compete where the cost of PV-generated electricity is above the cost from the existing grid.

Such policies are implemented to promote national energy independence,[clarification needed] is a redirect, which are meant? Energy security, North American energy independence or United States energy independence and resilience? A: any nation or territory. Only a couple of examples are given at the redirect, but the principles apply to Japan, Germany, Spain or wherever...

high tech job creation and reduction of carbon dioxide emissions.[clarification needed]< redirects to Greenhouse gas, is this meant? Why carbon dioxide? Is there or should there be a clarifying article specifcally for carbon emissions? A: Carbon dioxide emissions main issue is global warming hence the redirect.

Clarity[edit]

Can we get this in English? There's too much technical stuff. --68.193.135.139 (talk) 01:03, 10 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Use of kWp for presumably kiloWatts peak power generation capacity is not visually helpful when p/kWh (pence per kiloWatt hour) is also used in adjacent text. I suggest leaving off the p in the kWp and just leave the reader to mentally fill in that when she sees a rate of power (kW) that is the peak (rate of) power that the installation is thought to be capable of generating.

In the case of UK at least, more use of >= and <= signs is required. Before my edit (of 2011 Nov 8) (adding the possibility of 'equals') it looked like installations with capacities right on the stated kW break points are not catered for. If they aren't, I retract this remark! Calahondakidjade (talk) 20:50, 9 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

United States needs to be updated[edit]

I know the US 30% tax credit has been extended for 8 years and no longer has a $2000 cap. This needs to be updated in the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.201.242.130 (talk) 15:01, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

kWh[edit]

Comment is invited at Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style/Dates_and_numbers#Proposal on the question of whether kWh (with no space and no dot) is an acceptable unit symbol for use in articles, as opposed to restricting the choices to kW·h or kW h (i.e. with either a space or a dot).
