NPOV

Ouch! A half-inch of text on what the company is and what they do, and seven inches of unsourced and uncredited "controversy" sections, all added by one anonymous user when the article was first written. I've half a mind to stubify it now and pull all of that out, but I'd rather attack this a bit better later on, so I've added an NPOV tag for now. — mendel ☎ 18:13, 28 October 2005 (UTC)

psh. I agree. Those two controversy sections would have far more encyclopaedic merit if they had some other more general information about the company. Unfortunately, I know too little about the topic to contribute to the article. B1oody8romance7 00:16, 29 October 2005 (UTC)

It is somewhat unbalanced. Or at least light on the content and heavy on the 'controversy.' I think it would be wrong to remove the sections about the controversy entirely, since that issue does exist and comes up quite often in discussions about the company, with people having very strong feelings on both sides of the issue, but the article as-written sounds a little like sour grapes on the part of a WINE developer. There are some interesting things that could be written about the company, for one that the direction of development (new features) is influenced by votes cast by subscribers to the software. In other words, for about $50 you get the software and a one-year subscription to their forums, which allows you to cast a vote as to what you want added. After the year it's $5 a month. The interesting twist is that it's possible to purchase additional votes for an additional $5 a month, with the logic being that people who are contributing more to the development ought to have more of a say. This is also somewhat controversial, but to a lesser extent than the distribution policies. Perhaps this would better belong in an article about Free Software business models or something. I have removed the controversy portions of the article, since similar topics are discussed on Cedega itself, including the quote from TransGaming regarding licensing. Qwe 06:07, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

Licence

i thoat (i read the licence long time ago) that:

• you can acess the cvs and retrive a source that is usable (./configure make make install work fine)
• you can make binaries and packages with this source and redistribute them
• you can suscribe and redistribuate the things you donwnload(binaries,package,source)
• nobody can't use their product in order to gain money (for example you can't provide support,a service...)
• don't remember any thing about modifications

Broken Links

At the bottom, the last link is broken. Someone should find a replacement link for the information.

FinDev / TransGaming Wrong Article

Hi, in December 2016 TransGaming Inc. (the Canadian public company) completed a Change Of Business to investing in and financing real estate transactions, and changed its name to FinDev Inc. The TransGaming brand, as well as the business of Games for Connected TV devices were sold to General Media Ventures, a UK company, and is now operating under a new UK company named TransGaming Interactive Limited.
