Do we know why John Speed used the blue Luttrell coat of arms for Sussex? 88.97.108.45 (talk) 11:05, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The latest scholarship seems to think that Speed based his design on the earlier coat of arms of John de Radynden. The evidence is largely based on Rayndens coat of arms being on the gatehouse of the 14th century Bodiam castle. There is a discussion on this here.
