Writing and Television in Flatland Are Possible![edit]

I bought this movie, and I really enjoyed it. However, the maker of the movie stated that he did not include televisions or writing in Flatland at all because such would be impossible. It actually is possible to write in Flatland: convert Braille into a line, put one line after another, and you've got a Flatland book. Feel it or look at it to read. For instance, the word "Flatland" would be written as "111000101010100000011110101010100000110110110100", with ones being shown as raised dots on the paper: spaces would be a 1. Spaces would use "000000". Likewise, a Flatland television could use the electron-gun method found in some old TVs in Spaceland, albeit firing onto a line, not a 2D screen. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.104.128.55 (talk) 12:48, 24 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rain[edit]

One fault in the reasoning behind not having rain ("everyone would drown") is that in the original book, there was some gravity, along the north-south axis. North was up, and south was down. Because of this, the roof of a house was always north, as the rain always fell south. No-one would drown, as water wouldn't collect. Semininja (talk) 20:29, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No refs[edit]

None of the sources in citations or EL support the claims made in the "writing the screenplay" section. Because these are quotes and mentions of living people, WP:BLP comes into play, so the material must be supported by reliable sources. Not even Ehlinger's website supports these claims. That section actually plagiarized content from here, so I removed the entire section. Seeing that it's the official website, it's reliable for descriptive purposes, but the content needs to be rewritten before it is restored to the article. I guess you can supposedly buy it on the official website, but it doesn't look like the website has been updated for a while. It says that you can buy it on Amazon (which I'd rather do), but Amazon lists it as "Currently Unavailable". Alphius (talk) 02:01, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
