Topic: Mount Weecome[edit]

Need help. Does Mount Weecome exist? I have searched Queensland Government databases for official entries and the internet generally and came up with only a useless location pin in Google Maps. If no official reference is found it is up for deletion. Factrules (talk) 10:09, 11 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think it is a typo. According to a RACQ map I have Mount Welcome is just SSW of Flinders Peak. - Shiftchange (talk) 10:46, 11 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
After dusting off a 1996 Australian Road Atlas, I found the same thing. Just struck gold with these mountains by finding a great webpage, will reference now. Thanks. Factrules (talk) 10:51, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Landforms[edit]

Landforms table now created. List of mountains is not definitive. Add more when known with reference. Factrules (talk) 12:11, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not the Teviot Range, article renamed to reflect this[edit]

It seems this article has been factually untrue since its creation. Flinders Peak etc are NOT part of the Teviot Range which is a real mountain range but located some distance away at 28° 06' 00" S 152° 33' 00" (check in the Qld Govt official place names database, and I have double-checked with them to confirm this location is correct). Therefore the article has been renamed and all mention of Teviot Range removed. Unfortunately there are photos which provide insufficient information to establish if they are of the Flinders Peak Group (there is no official name for this mountain range) or of the real Teviot Range; these have been remove to avoid ongoing risk of misinforming people. Moral of the story: check your facts, cite your sources! Particularly when creating an article! Kerry (talk) 06:22, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not attempt to re-introduce "Teviot Range" to this article, no matter what source you think you have for it. Having been incorrect for over 11 years, it is unfortunate that many people may have been mislead and have subsequently created content based on the errors in this Wikipedia article. Please double-check in the official place names database! With great readership comes great responsibility! Kerry (talk) 06:25, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The article Teviot Range has been revised to reflect official place naming. Kerry (talk) 01:24, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
