Marty air

Marty air. A grab trick where the skater does a stalefish, but instead of grabbing the heelside, the skater's back hand goes in between the skaters legs and grabs the toeside. Invented by Martijn Terpstra

Unless anybody else can prove me wrong, I am the first one to think of and pull of this trick. Either put this on the site under Grabs(skateboard) or prove me wrong.

Banshee Flip

I am not 100% sure that the "Banshee Flip" is a move that has not been invented yet. All I know is that I have never seen this exact flip before. I have been skateboarding for several years now, and I never stoped to really think about new tricks from old basic ones. But the way the Banshee Flip works, is rather simple. And if you compare it to a mix of free style, and traditional skateboarding, you will find that this simple looking trick is fun to land a few times when just chilling or something. First you take the board, and you either flip it, or lay it down on your feet upside down. Flip it somehow if you are fairley expereinced. But it shouldnt be that hard. Then put your right foot on the right of the skateboard, while your left is under the board. DO NOT put both feet under, or it will be much harder to flip in a 180'. After your feet are in the correct order, hop, and flip the board right side up in a strait direction, allowing you to start up down a ramp or hill. When you improve at this, you can attempt it off a quarter pipe or something. Thats my favoriet thing to do. In this case, the Banshee Flip will act as a harder version of the "Acid Drop". So a guess that is the main point to a Banshee Flip.

-- Sounds like a casper with your feet touching into a normal stance.

Capitalization

What should we do about standardizing the capitalization of tricks? Personally, I do not see them as proper nouns that would be capitalized. In most skateboarding magazines, the trick names are not capitalized. I think it would be proper to capitalize the names in the list "Frontside Flip", for example, then refer to the trick uncapitalized otherwise (just "frontside flip"). I will probably make this change within the next few days, unless there is opposition and a reason for it. --Nichenbach 22:33, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Sounds good to me. --Liface 01:00, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

-- Its the name of a trick, it should be capitalized.

Cab flip

Now references Caballerial. "(can also be done with a regular ollie, switch, or nollie)" is wrong since the Caballerial states that it is done from fakie stance. Doing it from nollie stance would more likely be named "nollie flip 360" or similar.--Mnsc 13:13, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

I'd have expected it to be called a nollie cab flip. Can't cite anything though. 203.220.166.239 06:52, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

If my memory serves me right the nollie cab is known as a nab. Correct me if I am wrong?

Disco Kickflip non-notable?

I've never seen this trick performed by any professional skaters. From the description it sounds like a "disco" kickflip is just a kickflip done with terrible mob style (see http://everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=1460951). Can anyone cite an example of a notable skateboarder who does or used to do this trick? Perhaps it is an older thing and should be kept for historical reasons. Oh, and later in this article, under the explanation of the trick "Sex-Change", it is mentioned that "the heelflip variant of a sex change is also known as a Disco Flip." Not to be confused with a "disco kickflip", I take it? 203.220.166.239 06:52, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

The Disco Kickflip is a Kickflip where the tail doesn't leave the ground.

Fandangle on Grinds Page.

The article was deleted and replaced with a redirect to there, yet there is no mention of it there. Philc TECI 22:18, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

Rick Flip

This is a trick named after Rick Howard on the Girl Skateboarding Team. It is the Fakie Version of the Big Spin Heelflip.

Kareem Campbell?

Also, Kareem Campbell's Ghetto Bird is not a big spin flip of any sort. It is a hard flip, to backside revert.

It's an ILLUSION FLIP to revert

Kickflip Underflip

It's a kickflip then the skater puts his front foot under the board then kicks it up and the board flips the other way. [[Rodney Mullen helped invent this trick.

Yeah, it's in THPS, so I guess it deserves mention. --Liface 00:54, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

New style

Anyone else annoyed by the new style? --Liface 19:23, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

I changed it back. Some tricks may have been lost. If you deem them notable enough, add them back.

Back Foot Flip

This move is NOT the same as a Late Flip. After the skater ollies, he/she then flips the board with the back foot on the toe side (like a Kickflip). Can also do a Back Foot Heelflip, or Nollie Front Foot Heel/Kickflip. An exmaple of this move can be seen in the Plan B videos (Questionable, Virtual Reality, Second Hand Smoke, and Revolution). For example, Rodney Mullen does a Backside 180 Double Back Foot Flip.

So, can I add this trick?-it HAS been done by pros.

Sure. Make sure to cite a source, I think we want to make this the standard. --Liface 07:09, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Hangten Hardflip

Its a trick that i have invented a while back. Its hard to land and uncomfertable to perform, but if you can catch it on tape(i cant, i get camra shy when i do tricks) its really cool. While rideing at a moderarly slow pace, you ride in a hangten stance(you dont bring the back trucks up, you just ride with your toes hanging off the board a little) and you pop the nose of the board and then with your toes you pull it back. If you do it right the board hardflips between your legs. The trick its self isnt that hard to do. The problem is landing the trick or learning how to bail without going sterile(for all you guy skaters)

-Presley "jebus" Vann

Sorry man, policy is that tricks have to be established and performed by a number of skaters. --Liface 06:05, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

This is a Gingersnap

Spoon Flip

(Freestyle Trick) Starting from a heelside railstand or heelside primo slide, the skater has one foot off the trucks and one foot on, he or she then flips the board backwards so it lands on all four wheels then lands on the board. It is not a spoon flip unless it is performed one-footed.

Rail to Rail

A transition move to get from a Toeside Railstand to a Heelside Railstand (or vice versa)

Nightmare Flip

A Nightmare Flip is the same as a Varial Kickflip, but the board flips twice instead of once.

Stanton Flip

A Stanton Flip is a hardflip that is popped with the tail, yet flipped with front foot, so the hardflip flips in the opposite way to a normal hardflip. Called a Stanton Flip as it is named after Darrel Stanton, and good examples of the trick are in his parts in Transworld Free Your Mind and Real- Roll Forever. Also known as a forward flip, a dolphin flip, a flip-flop, a funny flip, the list goes on.

--- THIS IS A VARIAL KICKFLIP --- No its not, look up forward flip on http://www.dxinteractive.com/skatetricks/

laser flip is another nomer for 360 heelflip ththought big spin is preety notable it id a 360 pop shuvit where you spin 108 with the board i also thought the break flip is notable. when you do any flip and land in the middle of the board and it snaps the board. this can also be called pressure
