Her Maiden Name[edit]

While it may look like a misspelling of Calhoun, the spelling of Floride Calhoun's maiden name is Colhoun. --TommyBoy 10:30, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Post-1850 Ownership of Fort Hill[edit]

I have raised a question regarding possibly conflicting statements regarding the ownership of "Fort Hill" following the death of John C. Calhoun in 1850, in this article, the article on Fort Hill, and the article on Thomas Green Clemson. See Talk:Fort Hill (Clemson) for details. --TommyBoy (talk) 09:21, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have edited the page by providing some information on how Fort Hill passed from John C. Calhoun to Thomas Green Clemson. This version is from E. M. Lander's 1983 history of the Calhoun Family and Clemson. Alternative versions of this transfer exist. Many simplify the history by implying that it went from Calhoun to Clemson. See the South Carolina Encyclopedia for an example. KudzuVine (talk) 18:28, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
