Given that this article covers more than just the commanders this proposal has merit to me. I'd support doing this unless anyone has any valid arguments against (sorry its early and I'm not thinking straight - situation normal some might say). Anotherclown (talk) 21:06, 5 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I created the page Forces Command Forces Command (Australia). It is basic. No re directs yet. This page is still up obviously. --Melbguy05 (talk) 15:37, 6 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No worries, probably no need for both articles though. Is there consensus to redirect this one (i.e. Commander Forces Command (Australia)) to the new one (i.e. Forces Command (Australia)? I've no issue with that if there is. Ping @AustralianRupert: and @Nick-D: - what do you guys think? Anotherclown (talk) 23:25, 6 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
G'day, yes I agree, no need for both articles. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) 23:37, 6 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

When I say created Forces Command (Australia). It was created on 27 December 2012. It was then a redirect to Commander Forces Command (Australia). I've put some info on it. New to Wikipedia. I've moved articles to create a new page. Not sure what to do to make it one article. If it is just putting in a redirect. --Melbguy05 (talk) 08:42, 7 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

G'day, the best thing probably would have been to move this one over the redirect, but given that it now has content it is a bit trickier. Question: in creating the content for the Forces Command (Australia) article, did you write it completely yourself, or copy some of this article? If the former, this one can just be redirected, if the later, some sort of histmerge is probably required, but that will be a tad trickier than usual (I'm fairly sure I can achieve it, but it will require a bit of research on my part as I'm still new to the histmerge tool. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) 09:46, 7 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

G'day, I copied the content from this page. It wouldn't let me do a move because of the existing page. Made that a redirect again. I've put in a ( db-move| page to be moved here | reason for move ) technical request after I did some reading on moving. --Melbguy05 (talk) 13:48, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Melbguy05: Ok, I've performed the move/merge. Hopefully I didn't muck anything up. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) 10:27, 9 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I've been off net a bit due old man's disease so I appreciate this being followed through. Anotherclown (talk) 22:40, 9 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
