i owned a 1961 ford fairlane coupe. it was a plain 2 door. it had a 390 cubic v-8 with solid valve lifters with a 3 speed transmission with over drive. to lock overdrive a handle was pulled on the dash.it had oversize shocks and a positraction differntial. the engine was equipped with 3 two barrel carbs. i bought it it as equiped from a ford dealer. it could beat vette in quarter mile. i never drove it as fast as it was capable in overdrive. 135 was my limit. i never saw a hotterstock street car, especially for the price.
