Sean Maher, Richard Barratt, DJ Parrot and Parrott[edit]

Maybe I'm missing the obvious but there's some confusion over Sean "DJ Parrot" Maher, and Richard "Parrott" Barratt:

Sean Maher

Vice says "Sean Maher (aka DJ Parrot)"
I presume Labels Unlimited: Warp by Rob Young claims Maher is DJ Parrott but I don't currently have it to hand, though I can dig it out

Richard Barratt

Dazed quotes Richard H. Kirk and inserts their own interpretation of Barratt as Parrott: "Richard H. Kirk: The sample was from a vinyl record courtesy of DJ Parrot [Richard Barratt] who was my co conspirator in Sweet Exorcist."
Sweet Exorcist (band) says "Richard Barratt (DJ Parrot)" but has no ref for this
The Milk Factory, in an interview with Richard H. Kirk, said "It’s been twenty years since you and Richard ‘DJ Parrot’ Barratt released music"; and Kirk says "the Jive Turkey club at Occasions in Sheffield where Winston Hazel and Parrot were the main DJs" ... " But it was a breath of fresh air to work with younger people like Parrot and Rob Gordon (Forgemasters)" ... "Jive Turkey, at occasions were Parrot was deejaying alongside Winston Hazel" ... Is there a difference between "Parrott" and "DJ Parrott"?

If you look at photographs of the two bands, are Sean Maher and Richard Barratt possibly the same person? The photographs are grainy and there aren't many on the web I can find, but both men seem alike, an earring in their right ear, and similar receding hair.

I don't do conjecture. I did a Google search for ""Richard Barratt" "Sean Maher" "DJ Parrot"" shortly before my reverted edit, and it chucked up five results, of which three were from the same site. In addition, Discogs, which aggregates everything (relevant or not), hasn't linked them and although it's not unknown to have more than one ensemble use a particular name - Powerhouse (band) springs to mind - I think the images sufficiently distance themselves from one another for me to say unlikely.--Laun chba ller 23:34, 30 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
