Biography, not memorial[edit]

For those who wonder why we try to keep the language of the article neutral: The best tribute one can make for the man here on Wikipedia is to make sure that his article is the best article it can be - well written, thoroughly referenced, and phrased in a neutral encyclopedic tone befitting a man who has made so many legitimate contributions to the national consciousness, to the development of Philippine music, and to each of us who have been touched by his music. He needs flowery words ("tributes", as they've been called here) no more than Mozart did, or Rizal. His works stand for themselves, with no need for embellishment. And if his works stand for themselves, so does his legacy. You see, as someone who has taken much strength from FrancisM's music, I, too, am part of his legacy. And the best way I can do that is to live up to his example of being the best one can be at whatever I do, and being unapologetic about it. On Wikipedia, that means being the best editor I can be. Especially on the Francis Magalona article. I think I speak for all of us when I say he is sorely missed, but he shall live forever. So, in service to his legacy, let's not break the encyclopedic tone of the article.
