Is there a reason why in the compilation list "Strictly Commercial" is listed twice? Is there a difference between the listings?

No, I don't think so. Thanks for pointing that out. Perhaps you'd like to create an account? : - ) Flowerparty 21:13, 29 September 2005 (UTC)

"King Kong: Jean-Luc Ponty Plays the Music of Frank Zappa" is listed under tribute albums. This is not exactly appropriate. Zappa worked closely on the album, conducted much of it, and performed on one track. I'm not sure about changing it, so will leave it to someone else to judge. 216.19.218.90 07:48, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

I think its location is appropriate. Zappa was the producer and creator of every Zappa album since very early on. It's more an album showcasing Ponty's talent, which is why it bears his name rather than Zappa's. --66.241.95.65 17:28, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

Zappa as producer of other's work

Shouldn't this page be extended with Zappa's contributions as a producer of other's work?--HJ 11:17, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

Unknown Album?

I have a Mothers album titled "Mothers Day", it's a double LP with a picture of Frank sitting on a toilet on the cover. It's got some tracks from "We're only in it for the money", "Freak Out", and a few I've never come across elsewhere (can't think of them at the moment, and my records are in storage while I'm out of the country so I can't check). Anyway, I've done a search and found this site [1] which lists it as a "rarelity". I'm not confident editing pages, so if one of the dedicated people who make these articles could include some of these I think it would be great. Cheers.218.43.238.173 15:30, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Also, what about Kill Ugly Radio and Son of Kill Ugly Radio? Were they promos? Cancermessiah 01:44, 26 May 2007 (UTC)cancermessiah (cancermessiah@gmail.com)

Absent item

http://www.amazon.fr/Pinantique-Frank-Zappa-Mothers-Invention/dp/B0000032GS doesn't seem to appear ==> Stockholm 1973, released in 1991

It is listed (as part of Beat the Boots)--HJensen, talk 22:10, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Freak Out Missing and Absolutely Free

Did someone remove FZ's first and second album? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.211.54.164 (talkcontribs) 15:36, 28 July 2007

Someone made a split into Zappa and Mothers albums. I reverted this (see the Zappa template). --HJensen, talk 17:36, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Francesco Zappa

Is this really a Frank Zappa album? It is not his music, he is merely the conductor. He himself made that clear. Zazaban (talk) 16:26, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

The Old Masters

Why is this listed when it is essentially nothing more than a compilation of already released albums? Zazaban (talk) 17:29, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

One Shot Deal

There appears to be a new album out. Zazaban (talk) 17:05, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Studio albums???

That section is a mess, there are a lot of live albums which should be in their own section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.218.104.139 (talk) 22:48, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

With Frank Zappa, the distinction is generally meaningless. They were in their own section once, but it was decided that they should be together. Zazaban (talk) 03:25, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
By who and where? And no, the distinction is hardly "meaningless", though there is some overlap. Why even call the section "studio" albums then? FunkMonk (talk) 17:37, 7 August 2010 (UTC)

And some more-a...

This page definitely needs some work: the 'Singles' and 'Cover or tribute albums' are far from complete. Also a 'Side Projects' section is needed, depicting FZ's contribution to other artists (Beefheart, Ponty, Flint, Animals, ...)... --Emdebe (talk) 17:44, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

... and let us not forget a 'Promos & Samplers' section... --Emdebe (talk) 18:23, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Inconsistencies

There are some inconsistencies between the page tables and the footer table. Example: 'Greasy Love Songs' is listed as a Studio Album (page) and a Compilation (footer)...--Emdebe (talk) 16:09, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
