Fair use rationale for Image:Zoo New England logo.png[edit]

Image:Zoo New England logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Euthanize?[edit]

They will not euthanize any animals -- this is a misinformation campaign from some people in the zoo! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.124.233.7 (talk) 19:44, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment[edit]

This article has enough text and almost enough citations for C-class, but it really needs some photos to move up the scale. Donlammers (talk) 02:28, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Opening date[edit]

The current statement "The Franklin Park Zoo officially opened to the public on October 4, 1912 (although most citations say 1913)" is not cited and thus sounds like original research (see WP:No original research). The writer states that it contradicts "most citations" without giving any reason why this particular date is correct, or providing a citation for the date. I found dates in 1910, 1911, 1912, and 1913. There is allegedly a history page on the zoo site, but I am getting a security error when trying to access it. If this page shows the October 1912 date, we can say something like "Opening dates are variously shown from 1910 to 1913 (include citations here), but the zoo claims to have officially opened on October 4, 1912," which acknowledges the discrepancies and states why we think the October 1912 date is correct.
