Article completely rewritten and substantially expanded[edit]

OK! I completely rewrote and substantially expanded the article. I will upload the only picture of Beck I could find to WiKi commons shortly. I so far have been unable to get the 1845 issue of the Revue et Gazette musicale de Paris where Beck’s alleged duel is described, but I will keep trying. Thomas W.
