I am moving this page to Friar Garth Farmhouse to reflect the name listed in the English Heritage website reference, to distinguish it from the Friars Garth property in North Yorkshire. By the way, what is the reference for the association with Fountains Abbey, since this farmhouse was built more than 150 years after monks left the Abbey? — CactusWriter |needles 20:40, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I don't particularly object to the move to match the reference, but the listed name isn't always the one commonly used for the property. A web search found references to the Malham farmhouse as Friar Garth, Friars Garth and Friar's Garth. I've requested references for the association with the abbey, as I can find no support for this on a quick web search; it's possible it refers to an earlier property on the same site.
