Sources and possible confusion[edit]

This book (Worldcat) appears to have a very useful discussion, but I can only see it in snippet view. This source is saying he was "the son of the well known miniaturist". However this source and this source call him Johann Christian Albrecht and this one Jean-Chrétien-Albert, the French equivalent. One of the cited sources gives Jan as an alternate first name for him. So I am wondering whether Jan was his father's name. Can anyone get the Beyond the Dutch book? I would have to interlibrary loan it. Yngvadottir (talk) 19:05, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'd have to look at the library, but since my campus doesn't have a visual arts program I'd be surprised if there was anything. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 23:18, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • Neues allgemeines Künstler-Lexicon oder Nachrichten von dem Lebe seems to be refer to the same person (what's Professor of "Malerei"?)... Schreuel certainly had a number of aliases *eyes go wide*. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 23:21, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, this kind of collaborative article building was disallowed in 2007[edit]

Someone starting a very minor stub and then others coming and actually helping build it by adding significant content to it (Johnbod and Yvgs)...this is not allowed here any more. Feel free to add defaultsorts, tagbomb template the top of the article, or sort the stub.  ;-)
