Proposal[edit]

I propose this page should be Moved to "Fullmetal Alchemist 3: The Girl who Surpasses God" because as this is an English Encyclopedia, we should use an English name, whether it's official or not.Moocowsrule (talk) 03:21, 10 October 2008 (UTC)moocowsrule[reply]

Opposed. If there is no official English name, we use the romanization per Wikipedia naming guidelines and the MoS. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 03:25, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well then why don't we use "Gekijōban Naruto: Shippūden" rather than "Naruto Shippūden the Movie"? There's no official English title for that. It's a translation. Same with "Naruto: Shippūden the Movie 2: Bonds" rather than "Gekijōban Naruto Shippūden 2 Kizuna", there's no official English title for that either. This page used to be "Fullmetal Alchemist 3: The Girl who Surpassed God", but it got moved...Moocowsrule (talk) 07:12, 10 October 2008 (UTC)moocowsrule[reply]
Seems I slightly misspoke. When there is no official English name, we use the most common name. Being a video game, that would still be the romanization, not an English title. For the films, both of those articles are incorrectly named, but that has no bearing here. Just because another article has an error does not mean you replicate it elsewhere. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 12:57, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
By Google search the most popular was Fullmetal Alchemist 3, but that refers to not only the video game, but anything that has to do with FMA. But I guess you were right, according to Google the most popular result is FMA 3 Kami o Tsugu Shoujo, so you've won this round... I guess I should stop trying to argue with somebody who has more experience than me...Moocowsrule (talk) 20:56, 10 October 2008 (UTC)moocowsrule[reply]
No worries, its one way to gain more experience :) -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 20:58, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
